Does anyone else notice that people are getting smarter? Or am I going crazy?
I’ve been noticing for while now (since around 2 years) that people are starting to become more proficient at logic and reasoning, also their general capabilities are increasing.
Like before, I used to get frustrated at how slow people were in class. Nowadays I meet heaps of people that have very good common sense and are quick to understand complex things.
In the Bible it also says that in the last days, knowledge will increase, so...

Obviously as you progress further out of the elective classes and move on to your major/masters levels youd be more likely to find people that can think. but as soon that you step out of thas environment ... finding people with the ability to think critically is very rare
theres alot of fakes out there pretending to be intelligent, you get it in class all the time with guys asking ''profound'' dumb ass questions .... They might fool some students , but anyone in the know will know right away that you've just certified yourself as a retard
i think you might take this from the woke movement, but there again that's mostly cattle wrong beliefs. And these believers cant even explain these belief themselves

I’ve noticed with my younger relatives that they know their colors, can count and know the alphabet at two years old. I think people are getting smarter, maybe in a hundred years the average IQ will be 120 instead of 100

Not smarter, just more informed due to the sheer amount of information that can be found at our finger tips. Critical thinking skills are more rare, seems like most people just take information at face value, which is a huge issue with all kinds of misinformation on the internet as well.
That said, I feel like a damn fraud at work sometimes cus most of my coworkers are legitimately smart (thinks outside of the box/comes up with creative solutions).

A lot of people get all hyped up in school, I'm taking a philosophy class!! and they're all about that topic and they are sooo into it, then when they're done, they forget all about it. Ask all the smart people you know five or ten years from now about all the smart stuff they are talking about to see if they still remember and like it, I'll bet they don't.

There will be people on there saying bananas are a type of mushroom, I'm just joking, and I'm like you could have googled it! But, people will not.
On here you can be talking about some mundane topic, to a smart person, and people are like "WHAT ARE YOUR SOURCES!?" and like, if you don't already know this, you don't belong in the conversation.
The mask thing was a recent indicator of mass stupidity for me. It was obvious to me that only a certain kind of mask could block a virus. So, I found science research, in minutes, to determine what kind of mask is best. Almost no one did this and they have just like any rag or whatever on their face, and they're proud of it. This is promoted as a deadly situation and people can't even google what a mask is?
Being smart about history is cool and all but if you believe you're in a deadly situation and you can't even research it, that's dumb.
Also, the amount of propaganda people swallowed this year was insane.
People actually went out and rioted and murdered people AGAIN based on a fad, which is now over and no one talks about. They were young people too.

WRT people seeming smarter... I guess I'm going to show my hand a bit here, cause both of my parents are teachers, but it's worth taking a look at Bloom's Taxonomy for a second here. Regurgitating facts is the lowest level of learning/understanding, being able to do something with them takes a lot more skill.
When posters ITT say that people today are smarter, they usually mean they can regurgitate facts and other people's opinions off the internet, without being able to do anything with them. If you're at a level 0 in say stock trading, and a kid who reads r/wallstreetbets is at a level 1, it looks like they're flexing on you, but they themselves barely know chit. They know what a covered call is, but can't compare it to different types of hedge strategies.
I'm guilty of doing this a lot myself, cause reading chit on the internet is easy and building skills is hard. People aren't smarter today than in the past, they just have easier access to superficial material.
