Good luck, most “illegal” streaming services operate outside the US and not bound by law written by corporate lobbyists.

You mean the 5,593-page COVID-19 stimulus bill that congress and senate only had 6 hours to read (including their staffers also only had 6 hours to read), that was prepared by lobbyists for weeks

People as different as AOC and Cruz were bitching about it.

Why dont they refuse to vote and say we need more time, instead of voting anyways when they know they didnt read it and not even their staffers and interns read it.

It's hilarious and sad that our country cares so much about "IP" laws. IP is a total legal fiction. it doesn't exist in the real world. It's a meaningless construct to stifle competition and prevent innovation.

Imagine if math were considered IP. Fuking lol.

You know those kids who had a "mine" phase? They grew up to impose IP laws and never outgrew that phase.

I'm all for it. There are some woefully unjust practices in the entertainment industry. It's way overdue for a little justice.

If you look at any bill really it always sneaks in this kind of stuff, kind of funny they'd tack it on to this one.

Pretty much. You either have to assume they're either corrupt or incompetent to vote on a 5000+ page bill they haven't read.

" illegal streaming for commercial profit could become a felony."

Sounds like a micer streaming his favorite NFL team in his basement while masturbating to tranny porn won't be effected.

where does it say watching illegal streams is a felony?

I tought it was about the act of streaming for others to watch, and you do it for money.

Got links for these statements?

I like to share news like this but don’t want to repeat it without a source.

I get it for movies & TV shows but sports makes my head spin. Because a guy lives out of the local area its broadcast-ed he has to spend $400 for 16 games, so $25/game. Plus you need that Directv service which is another $65/mo for the cheapest package and that's likely a 2 year contract. No thanks Jeff. Why can't we just pay a flat fee of $10/game or something. Thats why illegal sports streaming is so huge. I bet the NFL would make more in the long run if they didn't let Directv monopolize the games like they have. Sports leagues should sell their games privately through an app like you would rent a movie through Itunes. If I want to watch a certain game, I buy that game that day. No contracts, no commitments, etc.

I've been reading that there's a large amount of money to Israel in the bill, can anyone confirm? LOL at the USA government, they're just shoving it right in your face.

what ? this is not it at all . This means hat if you have for example a bar, you'd be fined for showing the game from an illegal stream link
