Why is Louis Vuitton marketed as a designer luxury brand...

... when 99% of the time it's bought exclusively by trashy women LARPing as someone wealthy and high class? completely srs, every woman I know who owns LV stuff has the personality of a night club sloot. Legitimate UC and UMC generally dont buy that chit, may be different in major cities.

An idiot and their money are soon separated. True UC and UMC are generally much more subtle. Brands like LV scream insecurity

I wonder if they’re actually nicer bags than Michael Kohrs or Coach. My wife has a few of each of those that she got on sale. Seems like they’ll last a few decades, as opposed to garbage purses she would buy from target that lasted for 1 year.

It seems no coincidence that people make sure their LOuis Vuitton bags have the logo all over them, just to show that they have that bag. Is is worth spending $5k on a purse to show that you’re wealthy or pretend that you’re wealthy?

The Louis Vuitton name exudes sophistiqué, I mean if you were to go buy some crack which of these two houses would get your patronage?

He does have a point tho. The richest most baller brahs I know you could never guess they are wealthy they dont wear designer just simple brands. They literally look like average brahs. I have noticed the majority of people who wear designer are people who we call here '30k millionaires' who are in debt debt trying to stunt for clout and insta likes.

The rich brahs however never cheap on a watch or shoes (srs).

OP has a good point

In NYC, you don’t see actual rich, classy women walking around with LV bags

It’s always the trashy guido types that carry these to flaunt their nonexistent wealth

Yea its old money, generational wealth, class, etc vs new money, income, status symbols

Been that way for decades. Old money doesn’t try to reveal their wealth. New money does

Why are people with extremely low incomes walking around with the newest iPhone year after year? Why do people take 7 year leases on cars?

Because most people are retarded and most people aren't wealthy but everyone wants to appear wealthy because that projects succes. So retarded poor***s buy expensive things with their entire months wages and add debt to their finances instead of focussing on accumulating wealth or planning a future.

Same goes for trash sloots, they buy the designer bag and they think they're badass. They feel a little accomplishment in their empty retarded lives filled with fleeting dick. They're the ultimate 0 dad 100 daddies type of women. Same goes for those arabs walking around with fake LV bags whilst wearing track suits and Adidas flip flops. They're retarded so they think everyone's impressed whilst really only other retarded poor****s become motivated to waste their little money on teh same shet while smart people look at them in disgust. The gym retard with the 9 year lease Camaro. They are all exactly the same person.

So yeah LV is a luxury brand, rich people buy it with no fuks given so they don't even flaunt it. They buy what they actually like. But those poor****s you mentioned will not shut the fuk up about their retarded purchases or they will be really loud and retarded with it. At most you'll find a guy who suddenly hit a jackpot and compensates a life in debt with absolute excess.

Millionaire next door is a common phenomenon, if you know how to get rich, you're not going to be trying to stunt on people with what amounts to branding, quality is only a small % of the actual price on luxury chit. After a certain point you just payin for status.

ever notice how the people who try and flex their materialism the most often, usually got rich quick. Anyone who did it with hard work, investing, and good decision making realizes the value of a dollar. Lottery winners, and athletes never understand this.

Their marketing works, they're selling overpriced clothing to middle class sloots who think it makes them look posh.
“Steroids is now just a word that the lazy and ignorant use to describe any guy that has more muscle and dedication than them”– Mike O'Hearn

"I am like getting the feeling of cumming in the gym; I'm getting the feeling of cumming at home; I'm getting the feeling of cumming backstage; when I pump up, when I pose out in front of 5000 people I get the same feeling, so I am cumming day and night. It's terrific, right? So you know, I am in heaven."

their canvas bags are for poor people trying to look rich BRB oh look at my $1200 bag

their leather bags you dont see often as they are not as flashy. meaning the LV stamped everywhere, and the cost 3 to 4 times more than their canvas bag

lol if more people knew how much of luxury brands (applies with anything, cars, watches, clothing, purses, wine, etc.) was just marketing they'd quickly feel pretty dumb.

Yes there is a quality difference between a top item and entry level price item for sure. But that difference is gone when you look at any above average item (for example a $300 purse compared to a $3k purse, or watch). Everything you are paying for is purely marketing aka perception

I got my gf a LV purse this year, nothing flashy, she loves the quality and styles and they are definitely quality. She already has quite a few, it's what she likes and she's not in debt for em

There is a pretty distinct leveling up that is apparent when you jump from Coach/MK to LV or Gucci, Prada etc.

Designer clothes and accessories are a scam, only illogical people like women (often trashy) in addition to bus-taking, renting poorman's thugs flexing on Twitter.

lmao pretty much. Absolutely zero difference in utilization or quality between a high end product and an above average product.

Goes for things guys are into as well though - like watches

Imagine making that massive leap in judgement and applying it to everyone. Just because not everyone wears Goodfellow White tees and levis doesn't always mean they are trashy. Some people buy stuff because they like it and can easily afford it.

How are they better? Like you can tell the leather is better quality by a wide margin? Stitching higher quality? Enough to justify a couple of hundred dollars to a few thousand dollars?

the quality is how you tell the difference from a fake to authentic especially considering how big the knockoff market is. The hardware is better, the stamping in the hardware, the stitching is perfect, they use expensive leather/fabrics, the fact they aren't made in a third world country is also adding to the cost, Manufacturing in France or Italy versus Thailand or Pakistan costs more.

I'm not going to sit and completely justify it since I too think designer accessories are a waste of money but there is definitely a noticable quality difference to me and I'm not even well versed in that stuff. That's why you can take a 20 year old purse and sell it for 95% of its value or more if it's a low volume one.

End of the day it's not my thing and I spend plenty of money on stuff alot of people think is stupid (project car) so who am I to judge?

keep in mind that designer labels can get away with a lot as label laws are very lenient, you can manufacture a garment in multiple countries and as long as certain percentages are played you can still claim a lot of things as a marketing shill

it is as pathetic as Apple's "Designed in the USA"

agree all in all for last statement but a lot of designer/luxury is bought by people for the status symbol which is misleading but yeah point still stands

To a degree but that's where the Made in/designed in/assembled in tags come in. For example Stanley tape measures say "assembled in USA" cause it didn't meet the percentage of domestic materials needed for the FTC

A Dewalt DCF889 impact gun will say "Made in USA" since the majority of the hard parts like the anvil, windings, brushless motors, assembly etc meet minimum requirements. There are loopholes but they have made it alot harder now.
