News: Potential Snag For COVID Vaccines
It appears that one of the new strains is quite a bit different from the version used to develop the vaccines presently being administered.
Also news of someone who was vaccinated in December being diagnosed as infected:
So looks like at least one example of someone being vaccinated, but still infected/contagious- though not seriously ill. She only has had one dose, however there has been recent press stating plans to give people just one dose so that the total number of people vaccinated could be larger though a single dose gives less protection.
For anyone interested there is one study out now in pre-print about long COVID/long haulers and the variety of symptoms they report and duration of said symptoms up until this survey.
“They both (UK and S. African strains) have multiple, different mutations in them, so they’re not a single mutation,” he told Times Radio.“And the mutations associated with the South African form are really pretty substantial changes in the structure of the (virus’ spike) protein.”
The team behind the Oxford University jab was investigating the effect of the variants on its vaccine, he said, adding thathis gut feeling was that it would still be effective against the strain identified in the U.K., but he was more uncertain about the one identified in South Africa.

Also news of someone who was vaccinated in December being diagnosed as infected:
Fort Worth U.S. Rep. Kay Granger, the top Republican on the House Appropriations Committee, tested positive for the coronavirus.
Granger was tested when she arrived in Washington, D.C., for the beginning of the 117th Congress, according to a statement Monday from Sarah Flaim, spokesperson for Republicans on the House Appropriations Committee.
She is asymptomatic and “feeling great!’ Flaim said in the statement. Granger is under the care of her doctor and quarantining.
The longtime congresswoman and former Fort Worth mayor received the first round of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in December.A second dose is needed for recipients to be considered fully vaccinated.

Results.
Prevalence of 205 symptoms in 10 organ systems was estimated in this cohort, with 66 symptoms traced over seven months. Respondents experienced symptoms in an average of 9.08 (95% confidence interval 9.04 to 9.13) organ systems. The most frequent symptoms reported after month 6 were: fatigue (77.7%, 74.9% to 80.3%), post-exertional malaise (72.2%, 69.3% to 75.0%), and cognitive dysfunction (55.4%, 52.4% to 58.8%). These three symptoms were also the three most commonly reported overall.
In those who recovered in less than 90 days, the average number of symptoms peaked at week 2 (11.4, 9.4 to 13.6), and in those who did not recover in 90 days, the average number of symptoms peaked at month 2 (17.2, 16.5 to 17.8). Respondents with symptoms over 6 months experienced an average of 13.8 (12.7 to 14.9) symptoms in month 7. 85.9% (84.8% to 87.0%) experienced relapses, with exercise, physical or mental activity, and stress as the main triggers. 86.7% (85.6% to 92.5%) of unrecovered respondents were experiencing fatigue at the time of survey, compared to 44.7% (38.5% to 50.5%) of recovered respondents. 45.2% (42.9% to 47.2%) reported requiring a reduced work schedule compared to pre-illness and 22.3% (20.5% to 24.3%) were not working at the time of survey due to their health conditions.
Conclusions.
Patients with Long COVID report prolonged multisystem involvement and significant disability. Most had not returned to previous levels of work by 6 months. Many patients are not recovered by 7 months, and continue to experience significant symptom burden.

brb haven’t met one vaxcel who doesn’t get defensive or mad when you tell them you didn’t get it.
No “vax” for HIV after 40 years of research. No vax for cancer after 100 years of research. No vax for the common cold and yet a virus mysteriously appears and Within 12 months a “vax” is found by 4 pharma companies all within 1 week and we are mandated to take it ….

Yearly vaccines incoming.
Keep small businesses closed down because the vaccines don't work against new strains anyway.

If, on the minuscule chance they aren’t bought and paid for by CCP among others, then Jimminy Christmas they’re probably the dumbest and most inept people on earth, but with the way the Chinese government has been flooding into the real estate market there (oh sorry, I mean “rich Chinese investors” lololol), even a chimpanzee could see they’re paid off.
Ins**** and ****urson won’t let up until they get their income tax to make up for “lost revenue” driving everyone to poverty. WA and in particular Seattle have become low key the most corrupt places in the new AmeriCC(p)a and are the blueprint for whatever is coming

More fearmongering. Mutations like these have been happening since the beginning. I notice zero specificity about the spike protein. If it is also more infectious, so what?
Now that vaccines are being given, time to make non-stories into stories. Got a media machine to feed!!! There are zero plans to give people just one dose. There are questions about giving people a smaller first dose, to get them out faster, since we're behind schedule.

This is nothing out of the ordinary. Viruses mutate, always have. That's why there's a new flu vaccine every year.

And you can still be a carrier regardless, which is why restrictions are still in place for those who are vaccinated until we reach herd immunity. So looks like at least one example of someone being vaccinated, but still infected/contagious

Of those who experienced memory and/or cognitive dysfunction symptoms and had a brain MRI, 87% of the
brain MRIs (n=345, of 397 who were tested) came back without abnormalities
A lot of the cognitive issues seem all mental and probably due to anxiety and the overall craziness of 2020 in different aspects of life..

I just gotta say: fatigue, post-exertional malaise and cognitive dysfunction - are the most subjective, Brenda a$$ complaints I've ever heard. I'm glad they are the top 3. If there were any actually significant long-term effects, these are not the ones I'd be afraid of.

Considering mRNA vaccines can adapt to the new strains within hours shows we can beat it, but thanks to our bloated and behemoth health care systems by the time they are approved they are obsolete. JFL - fuk the testing just release it to match the latest strains as we know mRNA vaccines are safe
