Two GMiscer-like mindsets that you should actually follow [srs]

1) Contrary to GMiscer's troll part rhetoric, you should have a purpose. This is to not go mad from aversion to idleness at the very least.

But do not let peer pressure on things that do not give purpose get in the way of you compromising on potentially valuable pursuits.

E.g if you don't like your job and certain career shifts require sacrifices, such as a huge pay cut or starting over in school, it might be worth it. If as a result, you have fewer rentals - big deal! A better job and career might improve your purpose and life a lot even it is a jump from 4/10 to 6.5/10 career satisfaction.

This is where GMiscer IMHO is spot on - a lot of your happy/sad feelings will come from your time on this Earth so do not put is in second place.

2) Be reasonably irresponsible. Actually appreciate that you also deserve to be selfish.

Don't get into a hustle culture to be a worker bee so you are not a lazy liberal in your own head.

If that involves doing stuff like the examples in 1) to gain a more really meaningful and happy life then go ahead and call the bluff. Just don't delude yourself that a Gender Studies academic track is one of them.

Especially considering that even you are the most responsible, hard-working adult your pension and retirement plan is as certain as your daughter not losing her virginity to some C- student at age 14.

If all people become ultra irresponsible, we will face doom and gloom but you are better tackled to survive than the liberals.
