Mirin my ride to work misc? (reps if you can rotate pics)

As construction manager I get to bring guys out to the semi remote jobsite in this bad boy.

Kind of fun, but a tad nerve wracking to fly. Think of an air hockey puck with zero ability to steer other than the big fan on the back.

The direction you are pointing is not generally the direction you are traveling. Now add 30 knot winds, solid ice, thin ice, open water, and hard things along the edges you generally don't want to smash into...

I used to sell these, so sign me the fuk up

Not much changed here.

In the pic we are ten miles from any roads or living human. Lots of cottages around, but they all are closed down for winter.

I worked up north for a while and it was fukin sweet. Mostly rode 4 wheelers and pickups though, never boats, let alone hovercrafts.

I'm back in the city now and I miss bouncing around from town to town. Considering dropping out of uni to go back.

I did university for four years before trade school, and worked construction during them both. Then a few years later they asked me to manage the company, mostly because I could actually form sentences, and because I wa slocal and knew the area well.

What are you taking?

Finish Uni, then do other stuff imo.

Ya, its residential, but this project is super goofy with angles all over the place, commercial windows, and other "high end" stuff.

The siding has never been attempted to be made before, a team of designers and engineers, and me trying to make all their horsechit work in real life.

before I was born this company built a cottage almost entirely out of glass for one of the (currently) second or third richest families in canada.

We still look after it and do their building projects.

No, but it has a heater for the cab.

Ironically, this particular hovercraft design was invented and tested by a guy in New Zealand.

The idea was sold to a company here as it suits our mixed ice conditions better.

Nice, the pieces fell in the right place for you and you got a perfect set up.

I'm already a forest technician brah so it's not like I'd be dropping out for nothing. Got a Technical degree from an Ontarian college and worked north of QC for some years. Last year I did one season as a tree climber and now I'm getting a bachelor's in forest management. 1st year out of 3 (instead of 4, because some of my college classes are credited). I'm learning it's a lot of politics and meetings so that's why I'm opting out and considering going back as a tech or moving towards arboriculture (better pay in this field) and getting my ISA cert. I've seen hydro one and hydro quebec job offers up north for arborists so I'm tempted to apply.

it was just some guy named Nigel who had a great idea and marketed it well. The key was making it light by using a custom made Zodiac style inflatable frame.

I think Argos are canadian. The guys up north like them in the muskeg and bottomless moss and stuff when moose hunting because they float too. Pretty cool things.

I'm from VA so it was weird when our high school decided to forgo FL for NY for our (winter) senior trip. Stayed at Word of Life in Schroon Lake, got to snowmobile there for hours on end, and took day trips to Lake Placid, Gore Mt. for skiing, etc.
For this southern boy it was a week to remember.

I spent far more time in my life in a boat or snowmobile. I drove through Virginia last march. My wife was losing it because we had to drive through a tunnel in a fkin mountain. lol

Make sure to get up north somewhere and do some snowmobiling again. Can be a lot of fun.
