Job Advice

Just got offered a role for a company in central London (Would take me 1 hour 40 minutes door to door), told the recruiter i need a few days to think about this as i have other interviews lined up 20 minutes away.

Get emailed a few hours later by the MD, asking as to why i havent accepted yet and time moves fast ect ect.

How do you think i should respond? (Chasing me up straight away and trying to push me into the role, is something that annoys me to no end)

Just thought i would vent out my feelings.

Decent pay?

The MD busting your azz sets alarm bells ringing immediately, like they've got a steaming pile of chit that they're desperately trying to make someone else's problem.

I know u think very little of me Bristol and that is your choice but leave WD alone, he is more of a man than you'll ever be and 1 is the first to help anyone on here/be friendly to Newbies

Something strikes me about you - that you are one of these yobbos who drink Cider outside a Job Centre , then complain at having no money!! either that or as i am sure I read elsewhere "Mummy and Daddy gives you everything u need"!!

25k.......which isn't alot but the sector has taken a beating due to COVID, would spend 2.5k a year just in train fares. I think its because i half a decade of experience when most people live the sector 2-3 years in.

Not sure how anything healthcare related could possibly be struggling this year? Anyway, if he’s ringing you, tell him more money will make up your mind quicker, that salary is a fukkin joke

On the face of it the salary offered doesnt make up for the personal effort and expense you will incur earning it. That said, if the position acts as a stepping stone to where you want to be then it may be worth it. Short term pain for long term gain. I now earn 4 times what I started on by doing this so playing a long game can work. Any job offer in the UK at present should be taken seriously but you're right to question it

This. Just be honest about your concerns.

"Look brah, the salary is a major minus for me considering I've a got a local offer for more pay. Frankly, your firm interests me a lot more but I can't square the circle of a longer commute for less money."

Phucking can't stand low-ballers though, so I would probably reject the offer on sight just for wasting my time. Phucking had a company interview for a head of department role, three phucking interviews (HR --> CTO --> CEO) each lasting over an hour, plus a technical home task to make sure I could do what I said I could, and then they offered me less money than my current role (also head of department, but a less prestigious title/company) when I explicitly told them my bottom line was X.

Just told them thanks but no thanks. They even wrote me back asking what number I wanted but I just told them thanks but no thanks again for wasting my time so flagrantly for such an insulting offer.

Non essential operations ect have been put on hold due to the virus, and hospitals using bank staff more/NHS deal with private hospitals to use staff.

Is this a common problem in the UK? Srs question, I've never lived there.

Seems like London would be somewhere like SF or LA-- on paper good salary that doesn't buy chit. What OP is proposing is basically $15/hr minimum wage gig in Seattle or some other liberal LARP city.

Will you please just fuk off you idiot? I replied to a thread with valid input. OP recognised this with the reps, and again noted my input above. You just come in spouting your bullchit and ruining it for everyone.
