this is why only net tax payers should be able to vote, in any election anywhere

sick of these socialists promising tax payer money to buy votes

next it will be some guy says vote for me you get 4k, if thats good why not 8k, maybe we just give everyone 100k a year and then nobody would be poor right

Here is the problem: NYC is the unique example of a city that MIGHT be able to pull this off. Not that it's a good idea. But giving the poorest 1 million residents $2k per month will only equate to about 1/3 of the city's current budget.

The real problem will be expanding this outside of the richest, largest city in the country. But rest assured, they'll try.

LMAO, I am praying they do this. It would be the most hilarious disaster ever.

I actually like Yang and trolled one of his staffers over about a 2 month period and probably consumed at a minimum 2-3 hours of this persons time pretending to be an undecided registered Democrat and battling economic policy, lol.

BUT as OP said, BRB move to NYC. The entire heroine population of Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco would descend upon NYC. BRB Amtrak overload.

Edit: Wait isn't Yang from Cali? This might be the most genius idea ever to stop bayside cali cities property values from plummeting...

Mirin if true.

lets say the income threshold is 40k, giving these people 2k month now brings their income to 64k. What happens to all the people who make 41k? They ask for a salary decrease so they can start collecting UBI?

He proposes giving New Yorkers living below the poverty line at least $2,000 per YEAR. The program is projected to cost at least $1 billion in city money and require additional private-sector funding.
