The fact that we're complete tribalists shows how little we've evolved
If you just take a step back and take a look at the human race right now, you see that our entire consciousness is spent on nothing more than obtaining various types of power over others, ostracizing others based on difference in appearance and thought, and ****ing every single thing that is even remotely fvcable. Our entire thought process, on the whole, is literally no different than that of a group of apes in the wild.
Where it gets scary, is that our technological advances have far outpaced our advances in the evolution of how we interact as a species. It's like putting a chimpanzee in a Lamborghini, bad things are going to happen......say like our technological ability to manufacture a virus......

Correct.
Do you root for the red football team or the blue one?
Do you root for the red politicians or the blue?
That's literally the litmus test for the vast majority of people. Staggering circular logic and hypocrisy of late.

glad to see a significant amount of people have also pressed the “zoom out” button on life and are analyzing this sh!t more than most people.
sometimes I feel like it’s just me.
every single one of us has hit the lottery just by being alive in this time. the past 100 years have been really special considering our species has been around some 200,000 years.
just look at those odds.....fuk

So what do you think then of the theory that aliens are simply future generations of humans coming back to try and make sure that we don't F it up and end the species. You notice that they started showing up right after we started dropping nuclear bombs on people.
The general features of an alien seem to suggest that they've moved beyond race as they are similar in color, moved beyond the need for physical strength as they are physically weak, just as we are physically weak compared to apes, and moved beyond the instinct to F everything as they are androgynous. All of these human attributes seem to have been replaced with intellectual advances. Like once they figured out that tribalism is just self defeating, those human attributes weren't necessary anymore.

Asserting that human nature is unchanging and imperfectible runs contravene to everything that liberalism (from the time of the Enlightenment through to today) espouses, teaches, and believes.

“Pattern recognition and tribalism” are components of our psyche that have been present for hundreds of thousands of years at least.
His point was just that we’re still exhibiting those very same behaviors today and haven’t moved beyond them.

yes you are right, yet I was programmed with humanistic garbage through school and "lets love and come together as one specie" **** in music and movies as a kid in the 90s when that was on the radar
(the song seven seconds away comes to mind, lots of anti-racist pro homo we all bleed red **** during that era)
and I find it hard to get rid of that programming, and then you have *******s like David Attenborough going on television and saying stuff such as "the thing that defines humanity is empathy, and thats what makes us great"
while I personally find empathy to be whats LACKING in humanity
or why not use Joe Bidens fake scripted "politically correct" rambling yesterday, about ****ing unity and ****
you guys are aware that *******s like Biden wants racial dividation to keep control right? order out of chaos, its an old strategy thats been used since the days of the romans

What's being described is a lesser way of viewing the world which I try to be careful to avoid. It's essentially the root cause of ideology which I've been arguing leads to circular logic and hypocrisy. Current events around the world provide ample evidence of this... even in the East lol.

Semi agreed, but I don't think people are lacking intelligence. People are lacking direction, purpose, and goals. Some area of life to "grow" in.
For people that have chit going on and something to progress in, they don't care about the noise around them. For people that aren't "growing" in life themselves, they are more prone to joining tribes to for a sense of purpose and goals.
Saw this video a long time ago, some of what he mentioned was when the economy stagnated, people looked to literal growth, i.e. wars to "grow"

The danger is that technology wise, we are on the doorstep of some unbelievable things that could be used either to propel us forward or obliterate us. And if we are evolutionarily stuck in tribalism, then the odds are that the technology will be used as a weapon rather than as a vehicle to advancement.

The publication of the Gutenberg Bible (one of the first mass-produced books) was going to put a bible in every home, lead to the unification of European Christian society via the so-called Priesthood of All Believers, and decentralize power away from the supposedly tyrannical and corrupt Catholic Church of the 15th century.
Instead, it directly resulted in two and a half centuries of religious warfare that tore Europe apart, led to the Protestant Reformation, the Counter-Reformation, the Spanish Inquisition, the return of the main Holy Inquisition, and about 10 different genocides.
Now look at how polarized and aggressive society has become with a comparable set of tools that were meant to 'connect everyone' and 'break down barriers.' Plus, there are nukes now lol.
