Can't believe they showed us violent movies in high school

I took a film elective in grade 11 and remember they showed us violent ass movies with huge beatdowns and disturbing scenes.

They played City of God ffs...

Our minds were not ready for it at that time.

How dare they pollute our thoughts with scenes of rape, robbery and child murderers??

That's good, it opened your mind that the world ain't all flowers and strawberries.
City of God is an amazing movie, the reality of living in the slums and only knowing stealing and killing in order to survive.

I agree with Canard, kids are too soft now and need to be toughened up before they reach adulthood or they will face huge problems when they realize life is hard.
