When did "Tumi" luggage become a flex? srs
Goin on a trip with my girl soon. Her sister is leaving the same week and got salty that she asked for her "Tumi" luggage back. I guess she wanted to peacock in the airport with it.
Looked up their stuff and it's not even that impressive. Literally the same quality as Travelpro if not less because their wheels don't have the glidelock schit. I'm an extensive traveler and the only luggage that stands out as high-end is Louis Vuitton (obviously) and those cast-aluminum Rimowa cases.
Just thought it was funny she was pouting about not being able to bring the Tumi luggage and it's not even recognizable as a status symbol.

Travelpro is where it’s at. I went through probably 3 rollers before I bought one. Never had a problem since. High quality chit.

Still, I don't get the hype. But it's definitely a thing among frequent flyer types.

Tumi is like the Trek of bikes, good compromise of quality and price and will never leave you with buyer's remorse. With that said, it isn't flex worthy and I kinda feel like a pleb when I'm next to my girl's social friends and their rimowas.

LV seems kinda questionable as a flex brand as well purely because they're so heavily counterfeited. If I see random Louis Vuitton while out and about, I just assume it's fake unless accompanied by other obvious signs of wealth

Flex with your shoes or your watch, a big giant LV bag is just poor taste despite being impressive. It looks so try hard srs
Not a good look.
The type of guys who carry that to travel are always cringe try hard types.

Tumi is an "in the know" travel accessory for the road warrior culture...
The same people that will tell you, you have to have a Tumi are the same people that can rate the travelers clubs in every airport and the best ways to get points/perks.
Its a weird flex to openly state your life sux.

I showed up to a wedding in Cabo with a J Crew duffel bag and all the other groomsmen had Tumi so I caved to the peer pressure. It's fine, definitely not worth the money but it's held up through a few years of frequent business travel so I don't regret it too much. I actually bought a big checkable piece of luggage from Away for a trip to Europe and it is awesome. 200 bucks.

Luggage literally gets destroyed the 1st time it gets handled by airplane baggage crew
Sure you don't want to look like a bum but LOL spending a lot trying to flex with it
Spending a bit more for decent quality / features / look, ok
