Anyone else have very good long term memory?

I can think back to specific events in my life and remember the exact date and time it happened, things like when I first started my job, when I first had sex, when I went on certain nights out etc Even times where I've been black out drunk I remember every single little detail srs.

Yet when I misplace/lose something I had 10 mins ago I completely forget where I put it.

It's like I have exceptional long term memory but bad short term memory.

I couldn't tell you what month certain milestones or events took place, unless I am smart enough to figure out some context (like OH yeah that happened after Christmas, or whatever). But I can figure out the sequence of events of most things at least. My short term is awful. I can take my multi vitamin, and then somewhere around 0-3 hours I have no recollection of doing so.

The human brain is hardwired to remember first experiences, so those shouldn't be on the table. However, remembering every repeat occurrence in perpetuity is something to be commended.

Nah it’s pretty average, but I have memories from earlier in life than most people. I can recall specific events from when I was 2 years old.

I have a really good memory about certain things and terrible with others. Wouldn't even say it's long term/short term. I do think my short term is worse. I can go to the store for something I really need and walk out without it.

Pretty much same, my friends always say: 'how the fuk do you remember that?'

One of my friends is the complete opposite, he's terrible at remembering dates and always forgets things that happened weeks/months/years ago.

He was once talking about a night out we went on 'about a year ago' in which I corrected him that it was in actual fact 3 months ago and told him the exact date/time we went out.
