How much to spend on a treadmill?

How much would you spend on one? I feel like Ontario gym closures will be extended again even when the lockdown ends.

Are the ones under $1k bad quality?

Yes. 1-1300 for a motorized treadmill is the sweet spot. Or be a baller and drop 3k on the True Form Trainer.

Just download the p90x plyometrics and do that as your cardio.

Or a bike. Might be cheaper to get a peleton

Why would you buy a treadmill? I would only use them regularly f I'm on a super nice one.

I use these for regular work in the gym.

I bought a spin bike last March but it's boring compared to a treadmill. P90x sounds like a solid idea too though.

Treadmills get boring fast.
Look on craigslist and fakebook marketplace first unless you know you're going to be on it often.
I got mine at a thrift store for 25 bucks. It was probably own my some wildebeast with new years resolutions. (Coca Cola spilt on the belt and left to dry / hardly used)
Craigslist often has them up for less than 100 bucks.

Why not just buy shoes and go outside? Treadmill is like the smith machine, inferior in every way.

I had a $799 treadmill. It's going to jack up your electricity bill, luckily I didn't really use it because it sucked. If you just walk on treadmills and not run, get one of those non-motorized treadmills that just uses gravity and magnets (to slow the pace).

if your worried about electricity look into a curve treadmill, they work really well and use the energy you create by running or walking on them. I personally get more out of them than a traditional treadmill. But they are kinda pricy

My home gym is minimal and completely calisthenics based. It only gets cold and rainy for a couple months. Gyms are open and I don't expect it to close down again. Ya, have seen curved no-motor treadmills at my gym. Saw one on Amazon...$3600+. I don't really need a treadmill and if I got one again, it'd just be a clothes hanger like the last one lol

Ends up being about 28 minutes. Core works pretty hard jumping around. Weighted ropes have 200gm to 400gm weights in each handle which provides extra impotus on the shoulders, upper back and upper chest (surprisingly), Calves end up joocy.

Burns more calories than running, is much lighter impact on the body (I picked one up after dealing with soleus tendonitis from running too much).

Noticeable difference before and after each time I do this.

I train upper, lower, full body. So on 3 of my off days I skip. Best part is I can just train inside when it rains.
