i live in sydney and i lived 2 years in toronto so i can compare


the main pros of aus:

good weather
good salaries



cons:
the people in general are pretty chit, you won't be making lots of friends here, unless you are in backpacker mode and meet others in same situation as yourself
sydneysiders especially are fake/superficial, money and looks are everything etc
because of this the sloots whilst attractive are stuck up beyond belief, nothing like anywhere in north america will compare srs
the traffic is brutal
sydney is quite boring, chit nightlife, its fine if you like spending endless hours on a beach

Dry heat in the desert sun during the middle of winter is the best. Nothing like dry heat and constant sun 300 plus days of the year. Probably only two weeks a year total where there's some cloudy days or light rain days in the US southwest. And it doesn't get dark until 6:30 pm and it's still January. So the days are longer in winter also. Go far up north, it starts to get dark at 3-3:30 and pitch dark by 4 pm in January.
