Going to LA at the end of this month, where should I go??

Good afternoon everyone!! I'll be in Culver City at the end of the month. Staying for five days!
Probably won't get a rental car, figured I can just skate places; it'd actually be fun to take pictures along the way.
I know LA's expensive, but not trying to spend hundreds of dollars, obviously, so no extremely fancy steakhouse suggestions.

A cool burger place would be nice though!

Also trying to see the best art galleries nearby... I love non-representational, abstract and expressionist art. Getting a little into cubism and impressionism too. Not too keen on realism.
I started on a list but what do my LA homies think?

It'd be sick to use some of you guys' suggestions, like I did with my NY thread a while back.

Careful you don’t trip and fall in culver, chances are there’s a dirty needle to catch your fall. You’ll smell the city 2 miles before getting in it. Enjoy tent city though, place is atrocious. Trash everywhere

Worked out in Venice for 9 months and girl use to work n culver hospital

Best thing there is the hospital. You have luxury rooms. So when you trip and get an aid infected needle in you go check it out, the luxury room, can thank me later

I think you're underestimating how big it is here. You can't just skate everywhere. Culver City mostly sucks, but I love Tito's Tacos.

Get a rental car, go to a dispensary, get in-n-out.

In that order

Wow. That was intense. Thanks for the heads up man
NY was insanely dirty too but I made the most out of my experience, I'm somewhat optimistic about it.

Hahaha yeah I just meant safe distance from people.
But it might also depend on the time of year you go.

LACMA is a good art museum in downtown LA, eat a big meal first before you go in, because you’ll be there for several hours. They’ve got sculptures from Roman times, and paintings from the Renaissance era.

AMAZING advice. Thank you dude for answering the question, not sure very many people on the misc are into art like I am.
Kudos mate
I’ll have to check to see if they’re still open though in a few.

I had a few business trips out in LA about a decade ago.

Didn't like anything, Venice Beach was ok to see but it was off season.

My sister moved out there close to 10 years ago, but I haven't gone to visit, because LA sucks.

The best thing that happened there was when we went out to drink at a place that was right next to a rap venue. Some huge hood looking black dude got out of his car, and strutted over to the door. One of the Indian guys I was there with was drunk, and followed behind the dude mocking his strut. We all turned around and assumed he was going to get shot. He came back giggling and pronounced that "The black man has no beef with the brown man".

good to see you man. I used to go to LA once a year in the summer just to stay in a hostel near Venice Beach and skate the area. I'd recommend skating the path from Venice to Santa Monica Pier, super chill. Also checking out the skate park in the beach ofc.

Culver City is a good distance away from everything. You will die if you try to skate anywhere as you’ll have to take Jefferson to Washington to get Venice and people drive crazy there.

If you want to go to the art galleries, LACMA would be it, but it’s over on La Brea. Again way too far to skate. Same for the Getty.

In sum, rent a car.

For a taco place, somewhat near you. There Pacos Tacos on Centinela and Washington (I think, it could be Venice and Centinela)
