anyone got acid reflux ??????
anyone have tips to stop it ?
i went to the ENT doctor and he stuck a camera up my nose and down the back and found reflux was causing some damage back there
He wanted to put me on those PPI pills like Omeprazole for 3 months but i read bad chit about those things...
so I've been taking Gaviscon before bed and raised my bed up by like 10 inches.. but this Gaviscon chit is making my stool real soft almost like diarrhea
wtf?

I take 20-40mg omeprazole whenever it gets bad. Once every 2-3 weeks. Don't really what you mean about hearing bad stuff about it... pretty much does what it says on the tin.
And if you are getting it consistently you should be changing your diet.

Never went to a doctor. So I don't know if it's acid reflux or a heart problem. But generally I'm scared to drink coffee, eat junkfoods or oily foods.

Anything acidic would make it worse, especially wine. Donβt think cheese helped either. No idea if the meds helped but thankfully it went away eventually

Suffered from this for years. Solution was lifting my bed 12-14 inches at one end. But also I had a hiatus hernia which was a major cause of it. I eventually got surgery to fix it... and had gastric sleeve weight loss surgery done at the same time. Lost 60 pounds of so since without even trying. The surgery was two fold strategy, fix the hernia, and lose weight. When you have a gastric hiatus hernia, half of the stomach gets pushed up into the lung cavity area, this causes acid to build up.... by losing weight, the internal fat reduces also, which is possibly even more effective in pushing the stomach up into that cavity. Gaviscon and the likes don;t work, PPI don't really either.
But yeah, cut out alcohol, ALL soda & juices.... drink only water. You have to do this, there is no bigger cause than those.

Change diet and raise head end of bed.
The pills make the problem worse after you stop taking them and if you keep taking them they.......

Remove all processed foods/drinks from your diet.
Vegetables, some fruits, fish and meat from now on.
Cook using coconut oil.
It will go away in a 2 months but you will have to maintain the same diet.

I don't have acid reflux/GERD, but have read of two possible helpful ideas. THe first being to avoid dairy products. I guess the high calcium content of dairy can cause acid reflux issues. The other idea was to take melatonin. Apparently melatonin is not only good as a sleep aid, but also good at treating GERD.

I've been taking omeprazole daily for years. Although I've been diagnosed with Eosinophilic eso****itis. It caused terrible issues of food getting stuck in my throat which was fixed during an endoscopy when they widened my eso****us with a balloon. And then I would get almost daily terrible heartburn which has largely been controlled with the omeprazole. Been to many gastroenterologists and they all say long term omeprazole benefits largely outweigh the risks for a condition like mine.

Prilosec works but it wasn't a long term solution for me. It stopped it completely while i was taking it (for 2-3 months whatever it was prescribed for) and I believe for a bit after i stopped but eventually it came back. I still have it. I have to eat pretty clean and not sleep on my back or it will cause problems for me. If I change my diet or add a supplement and it causes more reflux i just cut it out now. Just have to be aware of what is triggering it.
