Does anyone remember the PACER test in high school?

Was playing soccer earlier today, and was talking with some of the people I play pick up soccer with.

Brought nostalgia now that I'm old I doubt I could do what I used to do in high school. My record was 89 how about you misc?

Some kid did 96 once, and he was turning red was pretty sure he was gonna pass out.....and he did. He also was sick at cross country though so he recovered lol.

For some reason our coach made his own recording just so we had to listen to his voice lol. At least that test was relatively short.

The functional threshold power test on the stationary bike was another one.

I hated the pacer test, I was always one of the first people out. Basically the fat kids were the first people out and then there was the group of regular sized kids who dropped out after them who just sucked at endurance running. I was in that group. When it comes to sprinting though I’m quite fast, I am real fast for short distances and I am able to accelerate real quickly. I never trained to run for long distances though, even when I was boxing I wouldn’t do my road work, I would find other ways to do my cardio.

The FitnessGram™ Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly, but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal. [beep] A single lap should be completed each time you hear this sound. [ding] Remember to run in a straight line, and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark, get ready, start.
lmao I was like lmao

We have something very similar in Australia but they call it the beep test. I used to get around 10 as my score but I'm curious as to how I'd fare now that I actually do cardio.
