/politicalcompassmemes might be more of your kind of thing. It's full of people from all types of political ideologies genuinely, so stuff that appeals to right wingers will be there often. It's not the funniest place in the World but it's better to me than /pol which tends to get dark and depressing very quickly

Ya, I pretty much never post a comment because most subreddit are hive minds. They think the down vote button means disagree. There's no real discussion to be had. I only make posts about technical issues on topics I can't find a solution for

During the beginning of the pandemic I would check out the front page of Reddit and ignore all the political stuff but I just quit checking out that site period. Too much soy in every upvoted comment.
