i think half the reason connor seems like he was mogged extra hard by the reaper was because he also came off the celltech that was giving him his lean/attractive face

By not giving a sh!t and making yourself more than your head of hair. If you meet a victim of the reaper who comes off as weak or insecure it’s a completely different interaction than meeting a reaper victim who is still confident and and fun to be around. Also, having a good shape for your head/face helps, as well as being jacked. You are a total package, so if you’re physically and mentally weak as well as bald(ing) then people will view you that way. If you’re mentally and physically strong as well as bald(ing) then the hair gets bumped way down on the list of things they’re noticing instead of affirming the weakness.
