You got it, mirtazapine. It helped get me out of that slump, but I don't want to be dependent on it so I'm trying to get off slowly.

I dealt with insomnia-like issues for a long time. For me it was just underlying stress that manifested itself in all kinds of different ways.

I'd imagine a lot of people would select the "forever" option or only spend about 4 hours of their life awake just enough to eat and piss.

Get up earlier, don’t nap during the day, exercise more to the point of exhaustion then smoke some weed. I guarantee you’ll be out once your head hits the pillow.

Getting up early, always going to bed at the same time, and training hard helped me start falling asleep quickly. I usually avoid caffeine after noon too.

Chloroform usually works to knock out the girls I want to keep. Give it a try OP!
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

not one comment saying cannabis?

Dude, get a bong(not papers) and smoke a fat bowl of high quality indica cannabis. You will be asleep within 20 minutes.

edit -- wow re reading this thread I think a few of you need to read this... cannabis is the key fellas. I use to be straight-up insomniac.. brain just goes SO fast. legit too high IQ for this earth. But yeah.. start smoking indica before bed. It will change your life. You'll be able to follow a routine. And you need to smoke it often enough to where the BIG HIGH effect isn't such a hitter.. literally every night or every other night.. like a guy on celltech you can't use it here and there and expect results. Once you've got a slight tolerance for it, you wont be BAKEDAF and you'll be able to organize your brain in a way so you can properly relax and sleep the second your head hits the pillow. The problem with cannabis is that once youve built a tolerance you figure, fk it, I'll smoke all day to hyper control my brain... but it's not "the way". Productivity relishes. Need to only use it before sleep IN a sleep schedule... and BONG, joints dont hit right.

the downside to this is that cannabis inhibits REM sleep (similar to alcohol) which can have negative long term effects

that said, cannabis is definitely recommended for insomniacs since SOME sleep is better than NO sleep

Being able to lucid dream for the same amount of hours you sleep would be fun, instead of feeling like you fast forward through your sleep.

You're right it does help sleep, but I'm the type where weed makes me extremely lazy, even the next day. Also what the other poster said about no REM sleep.

I used to smoke everyday and my life wasn't in the best place because of it. Just not for me.

I played so many sports and high level athletics my whole life, I could fall asleep at an instant. I used to nap in the library for an hour sitting upright. If I get in a car and I am not driving, within 5 min I'm out cold unless I force myself to stay up.

I get 7-9 hours every night depending on when I have to get up.

I thank the lord I don't have sleep issues. If I only get like 5-6 hours I feel like death and am just a zombie going through the motions. I'm sorry you have this OP. Maybe try cutting out caffeine completely, and take cbd? A lady at my work started taking cbd gummies for some pain issues and she said she now gets almost a full night rest. Wasn't her intended use but she won't go to bed now without them. Worth a shot. And she tried everything including sleeping pills, melatonin, etc.
