There's no reason why there couldn't be a public ownership of pharmaceutical sector or sectors. That's what the UK is looking into now. Provide funding, and drive costs down for drugs. All public.

The main way they subsidize countries is with their military. They obviously benefit from it too but the rest of the world who are allies highly underestimate how beneficial the US military is.

And where do you think that money would come from?

With healthcare the US has by far the largest number of medical breakthroughs due to their system. Is it perfect? No. But the rest of the world benefits from it and is therefore subsidized by it. The U.S. should really start charging other countries to use their medical breakthroughs and back-date payments.

The only way socialism works is by being subsidized by capitalist nations.

I live very close to the Canadian border, if Canada has such great care, people wouldn't be coming down here in droves to get procedures. I imagine if the UK was to the north of the US, the same principle would apply.

You subsidizing other nations is a by product of you being a superpower. This greatly benefits the US obviously but it doesn't take away the fact that other countries can afford nice things because they don't have to spend money on the military.

My whole point was if the US decided to pull back of collapsed the Euro****s bragging itt would lose all their precious socialist programs because they would be forced to build up their military.
