Are there any miscers experiencing a form of hikikomori

Okay so the Japanese version is extreme

Definition. The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare defines hikikomori as a condition in which the affected individuals refuse to leave their parents' house, do not work or go to school and isolate themselves away from society and family in a single room for a period exceeding six months
(I watched the documentary 'Princes of the yen' last night which got me thinking of how bad policy and economies can destroy people's lives and prospects and made me think of these guys in Japan; the faces behind those statistics whose chance of living a full life has been inhibited)

Over the last year, I've started to fear that this might be my fate. An outsider in society with no key to get in. I got my degrees but am finding the job market to be extremely uncompromising. I'm trying to spend the lockdown, or what's remaining of it, to hone in on some real skills that I can bring and increase my overall competency and wherewithal, However, I'm getting old as ****; I don't feel old but my CV is very light in terms of experience and it will be awkward mentioning my birthday if it is brought up. Like the Kaci Musgraves song says 'I was just coasting never really going anywhere'. I'm not sure what I have been doing throughout my 20's. I took the long route out of college; I started off studying one thing and ended up graduating in something entirely different. Then I went and travelled, learned another language, experienced life in another country. I came home and did a Masters degree which I thought would be the signal to employers that I needed but that hasn't worked out how I expected. As time goes on, I'm starting to doubt my credentials and what I can bring to the table. I remember a college lecturer telling us that what you learn doesn't really matter for employment, it's more of what your studies suggest about your profile and motivation. How much is this true?

Has anyone out there managed to get their life in order after a late start? Any tips on how do manage this transition and catch up? I live on my own terms so I don't care about money in and of itself. I want to make money as part of being competent at my job but I don't want for anything; I can get by on much less if I had to; Give me some coffee, a book, an outdoor gym and a bed and am good to go. I think this gives me some sense of leverage because I don't have this vision of a perfect life. I just want to get in somewhere and experience the rat race and see it for what it is.
