USPS should be disbanded
Seriously, how can you be in business for 50 years and have the worst mailing system.
Sent out a package last week that I paid extra for tracking, saw today it’s still marked as USPS awaiting item. Went into post office and they said not all packages get scanned in. I asked if it could get scanned in to update the tracking and she said no, they don’t know where it’s at currently..
Lol what? What’s the point of tracking then?
Cliffs:
- USPS is trash

what do you expect from our government???
srs tho, i'd love to opt out of mail all together. its all junk that just goes right into the trash anyway
years ago i signed up for the daily digest email of what comes in the mail each day so i dont even go to the mailbox until something i actually want is in there. full boxes of trash have to piss off the mailmen

They've literally been losing over $1 billion a years since 2006, when the law was passed requiring the USPS to refund retiree health benefits. Shocker, thank congress.

For anyone who thinks that the government should manage our healthcare they should go to USPS and the DMV and see how well ran those are.

First mover advantage / scale / etc etc.
There's no incentive to deliver a good product especially as there's no reasonable competition against them.

Miscers once again flexing their room temp IQ's.
Without USPS, the price to mail smaller items would go through the roof. Prices across the board would increase, actually.
Also, I hope you don't live outside of a major city. It has never been profitable to deliver to rural areas, so no mail for you.

Monkeys could run it better and more efficient
My last mailman was throwing business checks in the garbage and I was going back to my customers saying I never received payment, bunch of crooks

Mail is an essential service that the government needs to run. If the USPS dissolved prices would skyrocket and people who live in the country would get their booties reamed. Some things are too important for a private company to get the entire population's balls in a vise. If you don't like the USPS just use Fed Ex or UPS, you have other options available

And people want the government to manage their healthcare effectively, meanwhile we can’t even get packages delivered (much less on time)!

The idea of a do not mail list similar to the do not call lists for cell spammers was floated years ago and it was shot down by the gov because it would reduce post office revenue by like 80%
