How the fuk do you get out of Depression (srs)

No matter how good my life seems it’s as if my mind will never let me be happy

That constant underlying darkness that never goes away is exhausting to live with for years on end and I’m tired

after having serious health issues this year.. I feel like il just be happy in life if I just feel normal again.

-People should just be grateful or happy for being healthy
-Find love
-challenge yourself / self improvement
-help others
-go in nature

a lot of those should help.

the past year has definitely been the worst for me mentally and physically.

If I had to guess I’d say hormones, but I have no way of knowing. Do you get annual checkups? What is your age and lifestyle? I recommend doing some research on vitamin D, DHEA, and pregnenolone then talking to a doctor. You can also order a home test that will check your free test, dhea-a, cortisol, and estradiol.

This is a good post.

Also try and be grateful for friends and family if you have any

Doing exercise helps

Try and find a passion

Try and keep occupied (not necessarily busy as that will stress you out)

See a doctor and ask for drugs if you think that will help

Good luck OP. We all gonna make it

I'm sorry to hear this bro! There is no need for this! Easier said than done ofcourse and i have my moments of depression. What helps me is trying to talk positive myself. I think of atleast 3 things i am grateful for every day

For example today i am grateful for my dad driving me somewhere because otherwise i'd have to go trough chit weather on bike.

Being alone has made me less depressed than ever.
If you hate your work, find something you enjoy for less money and don't worry about it. You might even sit at home reading articles and research about work and it may feel more fulfilling for you.
Hobbies are expensive nowadays but if you have the capital to make it happen, do it.
Lifting is great stress relief, good sleep, a routine and sunshine are better.
If you are having fog try losing the booze and give keto a shot (but more than 2 weeks).
Be consistent and stop settling

clique maybe but these things help me. I'm no self help guy by any means

Eat at least 80% plant based. When eating meat go free range/grassfed/organic. Avoid dairy. Also try NMN and Resveratrol

Get off the internet. Go outside, meet people, get a job, take care of yourself, hit a gym etc.

If you're still depressed, learn to live with it

Maybe...unless your doctor is one of the countless ones who will just go “you’re depressed? Ok take this pill which will completely rewire your brain. Problem solved easy peasy”. There are so many different avenues people should explore before going that route, but unfortunately it’s often the first road recommended by a doctor. And too many people think “well my doctor said it so I guess that’s how it is”.

The answer is actually quite simple: cardio.

Any type of cardio that gets your heart pumping and works up a sweat is good for you mentally and physically. The endorphins that gets released gives you a natural feel good sensation.

See a doctor that specializes in this.

I know religion has worked for some as well.

See a doctor though asap.

Don't have the sentiment, "I don't want to seem like a whiny person" and just see a doc.

Google "behavioural activation"

100% srs. Activate yourself to feel better. Do not wait for motivation to precede the desire to engage in activities.

Research depression loops and how that entire cycle manifests itself.

If you catch yourself being judgmental about anything you read (i.e., what is this bullschit/nonsense, I already know this, this is pseudoscience, etc), accept that you're being judgmental and move forward anyways. It's always worth a shot.

A little bit of truth here. Then again, if being logical is making you miserable then maybe you need to give logic a break.

IOW lighten up and get out of your head.

I've found this effective.

HIIT (spin class for me) + active physical relaxation/tension release (yin yoga) + time outside in the sunshine = happier katya

When you are spending too much time stuck in your head taking a break by tuning in to your body is so helpful. Some people use various substances to shut off their brain, but that can slide into addiction and just create more problems.
