Not only is the US healthcare the best in the world, but it is extremely cheap.

Never have I had to pay more than a $25 copay to see a doctor or specialist. One time I needed penicillin and it was like $5 copay. On top of that, the max deductible I have per year is $2,000.

Employer covers all and all my employers have covered since I had a job out of college.

You're right, OP. When I visited California, I broke my leg in 3 places. Not only did the doctor at the local private hospital see me immediately, but it only cost me pocket change and he even sucked my dink!

Healthcare in the USA is dirt cheap. There's no issues with the American medical system at all. Lol @ Canadian communist system. Lol @ no healthcarecels

What you don't see is that your employer now has an insurance leash around your neck that they can tug on at any time.

Going through a medical emergency? Better get back to work for Mr. Noseberg immediately, don't want him to let you go and drop your coverage.

Get laid off? Got to find another job immediately, you can't be uninsured.

Want to fuk off and start your own business or pursue a career in music? Can't do it, no insurance.

Want to retire early? Oh you can't do it, you can't afford insurance.

If you walk where your employers WANT you to walk (making them money at affordable wages), you're not going to see the leash there. But step out of line and you're going to start feeling the pull.

That's really sad. It must be such a pain in the fuking cawk to have a family and lose your job and be left without insurance. I can't imagine how stressful that must be.

It's called taking care of your health though. I didn't have health insurance for years and never went to the doctor or dentist because I took care of my health daily and brushed my teeth and flossed daily. Still haven't been to the doctor in 7 years and that was just for a sport physical, and went to the dentist 6 years ago for wisdom teeth removal.

If you aren't healthy or have medical conditions that require continual doctor visits, then of course insurance is important. Just find an employer that has good insurance coverage. If not, like myself being a healthy young single male, it isn't necessary. When I worked at a company that didn't provide health insurance because of the cost, I would have had to pay $200 a month just for "major medical" with a $7500 min. So even if I did get in a major accident, I would still have to pay $7500, and if not, I'm getting wrecked for an extra $2400 a year for nothing.

It's all a scam at this point. Like I said too, if you have kids and fam, then of course you need good insurance and will have to work a job that can cost effectively provide that. Otherwise don't even waste your money of something you don't need.

If you don't have insurance and have like a 10k medical expense, then just pay the min. monthly payment over 30 years.

The medical industry has been monetized to a point of unfathomable levels. You either have "free" healthcare which is just chitty healthcare in more socialized countries that you get taxed more for, or capitalism which makes everything about syphoning as much money as possible by people between big pharma and insurance scams.
