It's too bad, but at this point, it's like saying someone is 15 Schibels heigh, at this point.

Metric refers to nothing in the US except a large bottle of soda. Other than that, there's no reference point.

I like using imperial. It’s not better or worse than metric, just different, and even after living in Europe for quite a bit of time now I still think in imperial units And haven’t even gotten used to centigrade fully, although I roughly understand it

for cooking I still like using imperial volume measurements (cups, etc) instead of metric grams or ml. I also like fractions of an inch for woodworking.

Metric is better. America uses a convoluted combination of metric and imperial. It's really annoying converting imperial to metric. Try getting the height right redoing a subfloor in an old building.

As a tradie, I use imperial alot. But metric is king due to power of 10.

Imperial is dying in the industrial world. But most tool sets cover both anyways (metric wrenches work on imperial and vice versa)


I used to love trolling my coworkers by replacing imperial fasteners with metric lmao. Most machines come metric now, sometimes gotta stop a dinosaur tradie from going full retard and trying to force imperial bolts into metric threads, das not it mane.

only nerds that work book problems care about the metric system.

once you realize most things come standardized in imperial units in america, then what are you going to do, replace and rebuild everything just so its metric now or maybe you will continue using gallons and feet if your place of work has items already built in even numbered gallons, feet, pounds.
