Why dafuq do we have so long paid holidays in Europe? srs

UK and Germany have like almost a month.

It is paid but what is the catch compared to the USA?

Everything pays a bit better (even adjusted for the standard of living between the random city in UK random city of similar calibre in the USA + same job calibre in both) and I think employees subsidise their own holiday as corporation tax must be low enough for companies to care to be somewhere.


I prefer to rest only 2 weeks and have more money to americonsume.

Do you actually get the time off for free or do they make you use your holiday pay accumulated?
