Andre was 6' 11" and weighed 500 lbs.

Andre had acromegaly, a hormonal disorder in which the pituitary gland releases excess growth hormone. The disorder can cause gigantism in children, which happened to Andre when he began to grow taller around the age of 14. Continued growth resulted in his enlarged head, hands, feet, and chest. Andre wore a size 22 shoe, and in his hands, a regular beer can seemed to be miniaturized (as he demonstrated in a photo that appeared in a 1981 Sports Illustrated profile).

He’s 3 inches taller and 100 lbs heavier than I was at my biggest. I absolute can’t fathom how much pain he must’ve been in constantly considering how much more the world is developed for taller-ish people than it was back then, I know before I cut weight I was in constant pain. Also can’t help but wonder what he could’ve looked like on a huge dose of OJ and a lifting routine.

Andre was still relatively lean @ 500 though - it sounds like you were fat as ****

Andre reached fat status closer to 550-600
