Question: why does the Covid mRNA vaccine have to be mRNA?

Why can’t it be live attenuated vaccine (inactivated virus/bacteria) to induce immunity like other vaccines were? Why mRNA specifically?

Does it change our DNA?

There’s multiple ways to make vaccines. This is a newer method. It appears to work quite well. If you’re young and healthy, COVID is pretty unlikely to harm you but the vaccine is even safer than that! And if you’re old or spend time with older people 50+, the vaccine is vastly safer than the virus.

You’ll be ok. I’ll cup your nuts while you get your injection and run the booboo afterward. We’re all gonna make it!

I'm not sure why it's mRNA but it's pretty smart and no it does not change your DNA. Basically the way your immune system works is it recognizes foreign invaders and remembers them, why you can't get the same cold twice. The second time you come in contact with the same virus your body remembers and is on that ****.

Traditional vaccines inject you with an inactivated "dead" virus so that the immune response can be triggered without the virus replicating and you actually getting sick. That way when you come into contact with the actual virus in the wild your body recognizes it immediately and knows what to do. Pretty cool

Ok so some important cellular biology. Cells in your body contain DNA. This DNA is converted to mRNA and mRNA is "read" by ribosome that take the information and convert it into three dimensional molecules called proteins that are thr building blocks of life (and the building blocks of viruses)

Viruses aren't really "alive", they can't reproduce on their own. They're just a strand of mRNA (information) that codes for a few biological building blocks (proteins) that encapsulate the mRNA. They reproduce by injecting their mRNA into the cell where the cell can't tell the difference between its own mRNA and thr mRNA of the virus, so it unwittingly reads the viral mRNA and makes viral proteins that form new viruses. That's essentially how a virus reproduces

The covid mRNA vaccine doesn't inject you with the full coronavirus mRNA, just a small part of it. The mRNA enters your cell causing your cell to manufacture a small subunit of thr coronavirus for your immune system to recognize and destroy. The mRNA does not stick around for long and gets broken down by your body rather quickly, which is why you need two rounds of the vaccine to trigger enough of an immune response to protect you from future contact with the virus

I'm no expert on this stuff but I did my undergrad in bio and see no reason for this to be unsafe and it's definitely not going to do any of the crazy stuff espoused by anti vaxxers

If you’re not smart enough to ask the question how will you be able to even understand the answer? If they had the power to change DNA why would we be wasting it on this? Lol no cancer, lol not birth defects, nope just going to try and vaccinate stupid people from them selves.

Because they need to change your DNA, a traditional vaccine would just give u immunity

IDK but the news station interviewed virologist and climate change expert Bill Gates who says its a great vaccine so I went and got it and didnt ask many questions.

Does it change our DNA?
Because it's cheaper and faster to produce than other vaccines which requires culturing live viruses in a host such as chicken eggs. Also because the US likes to swing it's big old dik around and show how edgy they are so they decided to use this opportunity to roll out a new technology especially to give china the middle finger, whom is using only attenuated virus vaccines. Lastly because the companies that produced it make a buttload of money and fame and dik suking by using a brand new cutting edge technology than they would making a regular attenuated vaccine. Johnson and johnson decided to go a tried route and made a recombinant vaccine using another virus as a vector.

>Does it change our dna?

No you fuking *******. Do you even understand the processes required and how difficult it would be to do that? Not to mention do in a fashion that is viable and allows the patient to not get fuking cancer and die?

Here is a long winded article posting on mRNA vaccines. I specifically picked an article from 2018 to avoid anything related to covid being tied to the article to make it clear I have no political motivation in posting anything related to this. I think it's cool how vaccines work and am interested in the biology of the process.

This is the passage from the article on safety in regards to mRNA. Again this is precovid so nothing political here. It's long, but nobody is going to read the whole ****ing article and this is the passage most people will be looking for.

"Safety
The requirement for safety in modern prophylactic vaccines is extremely stringent because the vaccines are administered to healthy individuals. Because the manufacturing process for mRNA does not require toxic chemicals or cell cultures that could be contaminated with adventitious viruses, mRNA production avoids the common risks associated with other vaccine platforms, including live virus, viral vectors, inactivated virus and subunit protein vaccines. Furthermore, the short manufacturing time for mRNA presents few opportunities to introduce contaminating microorganisms. In vaccinated people, the theoretical risks of infection or integration of the vector into host cell DNA are not a concern for mRNA.For the above reasons, mRNA vaccines have been considered a relatively safe vaccine format.

Several different mRNA vaccines have now been tested from phase I to IIb clinical studies and have been shown to be safe and reasonably well tolerated (Tables 2, 3). However, recent human trials have demonstrated moderate and in rare cases severe injection site or systemic reactions for different mRNA platforms22,91. Potential safety concerns that are likely to be evaluated in future preclinical and clinical studies include local and systemic inflammation, the biodistribution and persistence of expressed immunogen, stimulation of auto-reactive antibodies and potential toxic effects of any non-native nucleotides and delivery system components. A possible concern could be that some mRNA-based vaccine platforms54,166 induce potent type I interferon responses, which have been associated not only with inflammation but also potentially with autoimmunity167,168. Thus, identification of individuals at an increased risk of autoimmune reactions before mRNA vaccination may allow reasonable precautions to be taken. Another potential safety issue could derive from the presence of extracellular RNA during mRNA vaccination. Extracellular naked RNA has been shown to increase the permeability of tightly packed endothelial cells and may thus contribute to oedema169. Another study showed that extracellular RNA promoted blood coagulation and pathological thrombus formation170. Safety will therefore need continued evaluation as different mRNA modalities and delivery systems are utilized for the first time in humans and are tested in larger patient populations."

No. Genes in your body turn on and off in response to variables all the time, that’s probably what you’re thinking of.

The people arguing both sides are missing the two largest points.

1) Nothing is safe until it's been adequately tested. Multi-billion dollar companies have frequently misjudged the safety of simple mechanical systems because its impossible to resolve everything in beta testing before it's actually applied IRL. The FDA has hugely redundant trial criteria for a reason.

2) A vaccine that causes discomfort and illness to the same degree and with a higher frequency than the actual illness is useful... how? It's a logical option for risk groups, and that's it.

People think they are an expert after watching a 15 minute YouTube video with b-roll footage and scary background music. But when was the last time you actually read a report about any medical or vaccine study? Ill give you a sample. The general public does not have the capability of reading something like this.

When was the last year that you can recall over half a million Americans dying of the flu? And that is DESPITE the innumerable lockdowns and social distancing etc. had these things not been done, millions would be dead. You can make an argument that it would have been worth the deaths if you’d like but you can’t deny with any integrity that the pandemic is a kunt that has hurt the US awfully bad and so hurried vaccines are a reasonable solution.

you're omitting the fact that deaths from heart disease or other serious conditions were counted as covid deaths. Tell me the data of the overall death rate for the last 10 years, against 2020?

It’s not semantics, it’s literally not changing your dna. If your definition of changing dna is what you described than water, lifting, sleeping, and pissing, also change your dna

Show me one actual study that supports your opinion bud. Any trials or studies that show that celery sticks alter your dna?

The US of FAT has lost so many more people because of your incredibly unhealthy, massively over weight and morbidly obese population, 94% of people hospitalized were either obese an/or had 2 or more co-morbidities

this illness is barely an issue for many people and the fact that so many can have it asymptomatically attests to that.

If you are in a vulnerable group sure take the 'vaccine' or whatever it really is but if you are fit and healthy why risk a new medicine that has has been rushed through, never used in humans before and has no long term testing for an illness that you may not even know you ever had.
