How much were people making nominally in the 80s? -ignoring inflation

Like if some dude came home and he received a paycheck? How much would that paycheck be for a white-collar job? If it's too broad, pick a job and mention how much they make?

My in-laws bought a home in CA for $60,000 in the 80s.

Would gladly take high interest rates and low home prices vs the opposite (how it's like now)
