Rewiring a house. Electrician recs lutron smart switches, smartphone control, etc
Any brahs have this? Is it worth the money? I’ve got about 150 lights being rewired, and the investment will be huge. But you only get one chance when they break open your ceilings and walls...
Details for rewiring-this is a portion of the house that is wired with a low volt system (Remcon). Transformers and relays everywhere, a maze of circuits. They are updating and simplifying the system.

I've looked into them, I think that they're overpriced. I've outfitted mine with these, dimmer variants as well, zero issues.

Lutron Caseta series are best bar none.
What do you mean 150 lights? What mansion?
The Luton Caseta are switches, dimmers, and plugs. You don't need one per bulb.

Some smart devices use the ZigBee protocol, which runs on the frequency of 2.4 GHz, while the Z-wave protocol runs on a frequency of 908 MHz. Lutron Caseta runs on its own custom radio frequency of about 431 MHz (although it works similarly to the ZigBee protocol).

The real switch mounts where wiring is accessible. Then you can mount the Pico switch in a boxanywhere else. It communicates with the real switch and works and looks the same. All of this is simple and controlled in an app. Set scenes, link to Alexa/Google, set random sequences for when you're away - the works.

Most smart switches require a neutral wire, make sure you're wired correctly especially if it's an older house.
Casetas with Pico remotes are great, plus can turn off from my phone or our smart speaker - "Hey Google turn off EVERYTHING" as you leave the house turns off 18 light/s and both TVs, it's GOAT especially since my children are too young and my wife genetically incapable of turning off lights.

It honestly seems like a downgrade to make them 6inch, because the old fixtures go so far back that you can’t see the bulb unless you are right under the light. You only really see the chrome baffle of the fixture reflecting light. I’m not sure of it’s feasible to replace fixtures like that authentically these days.
