Bar decoration ideas

So i've turned a spare room in my house into a "bar" area. I need some cool ideas on how to decorate it, as I've never had to decorate anything in my life, and I fear if I let my GF take over its going to look gay, generic and bland as ****.

Some info to go off of:

Actual bar furniture is this- (minus the chairs. I have steel stools)


Room is completely empty, freshly painted a dark charcoal/blue.


100% know I want a neon sign + we will be installing shelves on certain walls for "tables" so people can put down drinks n such. Thinking I'd like a retro/synthwave vibe? Open to ideas.

Give it a theme. I've decorated 23 of my rental houses and they all have a common theme in the artwork. Labrador retrievers, ocean sailing ships, dogs playing poker, guy action movies, quentin tarrantino movies, Arnold S movies, Ducks Unlimited, western movies, deer hunting are some themes that I can think of off the top of my head. You could also do muscle cars, Playboy models, Marilyn Monroe, trains etc.

You say that as a joke, but If I found something cool and funky to make a poster out of its happening Boyo. GF's happiness levels about bar decoration mean nothing to me.
