Average looks, let’s say 6/10. Average income. Average education. Average job. Literally average everything, yet manages to nab someone named to the Forbes 30 under 30.

My other friend, also average looking, with an average occupation was going on dates with lawyers, CEOs, and other high profile men.

Yeah but I bet those guys aren't calling back after sleeping with them. It's not hard for girls to "overperform" in terms of status with men who will sleep with them. It's much much harder for those girls to get one of those men to commit to them. Does it happen, sure, every now and then. But for the most part, high status men pair either with high status women or with someone who they dated from a young age.
