Is there a bigger form of cuckoldry than buying name brand items

Famous designer clothes/shoes/accessories
Luxurious cars
Luxurious watches

I mean some corporation actually brainwashed you into thinking that something has more value than it actually has in real life. They associated their brands with social status.

You're a cuck if you buy a gucci belt or burberry coat.

brand names are basically pimping

imagine being a stripper or hooker that sell your soul for riches, then you take that money that you sold your body and soul for, give it up for gucci, prada and lv.

that is pimping at the highest level.

Not in all cases. I buy name brand when that items quality is worth the cost. Just lol @ people that pay 100x the markup just for a label though

That's why I only wear Red Wings, Allen Edmonds and New Balance. Highest quality made goods, all made in the USA, but they don't really stand out to plebs and have no external branding. So the value of the product is actuallyinthe product and not in advertising/marketing

Depends on what the product is.

I’ll take Rogue equipment over Hammer, Titan, Technogym, etc.

Lots of my clothing, I spent quite a bit on, and they have lasted years. My Feragamos and Allen Edmond shoes have been going strong for 8+ years now.

Red Wing heritage is made in the USA, but the rest of their stuff is made overseas. Most New Balance are made overseas as well and even the ones made in the USA contain foreign components. I don't know anything about Allen Edmonds.

Watches retain or appreciate in value actually. Also there's a huge difference in craftsmanship of sneakers and a nice pair of Goodyear welted shoes. Some will last for 10 - 20 years with great care.

You're making a broad statement. I get the sentiment but you're also talking out your ass as well.

Driving in my S-class, minding my own business and as I’m checking the time on my Lange Datograph. It’s 10.54 PM... and that’s when I notice him, the OP, lolling at me for owning brand items. I gently grapped my Tie Your Tie tie and wiped away a tear. Sad.

Michael Kors is pretty poverty when it comes to women’s bags. Even Coach bags are pretty poverty.

I agree. Problem is the majority of 'designer' brands aren't really quality. They are just a name brand.

I've an old supervisor that spent $500 on a pair of Danner boots. He's worn them for 40-60 hours per week for over 10 years. Had to have them resoled a few times but otherwise in great shape.

Considering most of the guys in my line of work buy a pair of boots worth around $100-130 and they wear out in 12-18 months. His boots were a good investment.

My girl has a ton of designer bags. Mainly Brahmin and LV. I don't even want to know how much she has 'invested' in bags. She'll literally buy a $2k-3K LV just to use once or twice then it goes into storage. To her credit she does sell them down the line for what she paid for the. But damn, I don't get it. Its a lot of money for a status symbol.

Her closet most likely has around 30K worth of bags in it at any given time.
