Lmao, in about a year when all the recruits dry up and no one has replaced all the ones in training currently. After all the budgets will be cut and they only send unarmed cucks to talk to criminals instead...

not sure why miscers keep saying this, almost every department has huge waiting lists. in major cities most of them make at least 100K after a number of years on the force and the benefits are insane.

completely recession proof job since cops are always needed more and more every year as the population grows.

would take a job to be a cop in a heart beat.

Anyone with a brain would not be a cop now. You can be jailed for following procedures and having a drug user die while you attempt to arrest them.

Was actually considering it at one point but the pros are outweighed by the cons in the USA at least


Unless you work in a really rich area where nothing happens (Beverly hills etc)

standards will drop a lot

nobody will take that job unless they have to and then if things are dangerous enough they will not come out to protect you

they actually have no legal requirement to protect tax paying citizens, they only have a legal duty to protect those in custody. This was shown in that miami school shooting when the cops chilled outside and didnt go in as students were getting shot.

This is all to weaken the local police departments so they can have more centralized control. Watch for federal police forces to increase.

Remember the federal police officer that shot the unarmed trespassing truck driver in the capitol? no charges. hmm. fed police will be protected. This is a power grab

Yeah, it's one hell of a shame how we hold police accountable for their actions now. They should be allowed to bully and mistakenly kill people without any repercussions.

he had 9 minutes to make the decision to get off of him, that's not a snap decision.

A few days ago a motorcycle cop shot up this dude that was shooting at him during a traffic stop; he's being praised by everyone. Not hard to make the right decisions if you're not a POS.

Don't get me wrong I think Chauvin deserved the manslaughter charge, but not second degree murder. "Holding police accountable" is turning into a different meaning. Look how folks reacted to the shooting of Michael Brown even though the cop was in the right - they burned down the city. If that chit happened today, he'd probably get charged and convicted. Criminals are being celebrated and police are demonized. So yeah, not worth it to be a cop unless you're in one of the nicer areas. I feel for the cops who have to work ghettos
