Where is the general happiness gone away?

Before if I was sad, I would be sad for a few minutes and rest of the time happy. I could see everyone being happy around me and having fun in their life, you could feel the joy in the air. Now it seems like I have become always sad, hopeless...I can see the entire globe and general population being sad, hopeless, frustrated and you can feel the sorrow or emptiness in the air, which even worsens my problem. I feel even the wealth doesn't hold any value, importance or happiness to me anymore, but just a means of survival.

How did people get it so wrong considering we were living in the most amazing times just a few years ago.
