America between Carter and Clinton was a pretty great place. The cultural marxists were contained in academia and their ideas openly mocked outside of academia. The country wasn't so divided. The economy was red hot. The overall vibe was optimism for a better future. We felt happy to have survived the malaise and incompetence of the Carter administration, and didn't yet know of the impending Clinton administration that would usher a generation of America-hating hippies into political power and high bureaucratic positions. 1980-1992. Twelve pretty great years overall.
