I really haven't been anywhere. Something about going somewhere new and unknown is like super anxiety inducing lol no homo

Only time I had what I suspect to be an anxiety attack was when I got to my AirBnb in another country for the first time to begin a month-long solo backpacking trip in Europe. I was good after a night's sleep though and realized I had nothing to really worry about.

If your an Ameribrah like me, then the states has plenty to explore.

Pretty much this. I don’t know why but I find it awkward/depressing to travel alone. Definitely cutting out life experiences for social stigma though but I dread getting asked a question like “oh you been to X? Who’d you go with?”

i would travel more if i had the money. some of the best experiences i've had has been going to an american city (never traveled outside of USA) and stayed in a hostel.

of course with covid its all different now. but heres a tip...look at when european countries have holidays (not always lines up with ours) and you can meet foreigners in tourist towns all the time!

It might help if I tell you that in my experience going out alone in the city I live in is far worse than going out in a city I'm traveling in.

Completely disagree. 30s are your 20s but with money. There's no reason why you can't travel and bang sloots just because of age, unless you're awkward and ugly.

Edit: it also really depend on where you stay and what you do. Staying at a resort or upscale hotel? Cool. Sharing a dorm with people half your age? Strong loser status

I have zero desire to travel and I don’t know why. I went to Germany, Switzerland, and Austria 2 years ago with my family and it was a great experience.

If someone gave me free tickets to go on a 2 week vacation anywhere in the world, I’d turn it down. srs.

Damn. Was just thinkin to go hang at a San Diego hostel. I'm 32 though. Last time I was at a hostel was age 29 and didn't have any issues. Thoughts?

I haven't gone anywhere except 2 nearby states, and some nearby cities within my state, in my adulthood/teenage years.

Till age 23/24ish it was because of money. Was paying off all my debts and stuff at the time, and before that I was a student with minimum wage income. Now I'm 25 approaching 26, debt free, got a ~110kish gross income projected for the year (potentially more if I do well in some recent interviews), and just want to amass a lot of money in investments to build the net worth... but without any clear goals on what I'd do yet (down payment on house/condo is an idea). I was looking into getting a passport in early 2020, ride a plane for the first time in my life for an adventure or two, but then COVID had to happen.

Right now I just want to keep building up wealth and not get too spendy with things... traveling can wait a bit for me.... nothing like the feeling of a financial safety net. Maybe after the 2nd COVID shot I'll be more open minded. Seems kinda fun to visit some new states/countries after things reopen everywhere.

theres always 1-3 older men or women in hostels...they're either on a rough patch or just enjoy younger company.

most hostel folks will be like early 20s but as long as you're cool it wont matter if you're 50...

Last hostels I did pre-Covid was in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Just remember there being lopsided gender ratios and guys were simping and hitting on really fat ugly chicks that were hanging out in the lounge. Hostel guys have no standards pretty much.

This. I find Asia far more interesting than Western Europe and even Latin America.

But due to Covid guess who is open? Latin America. Bored to tears here. Doesn't help that many women are overweight / obese and are xenophobic. I know what you mean, the anxiety of being away from home and not knowing whats going to happen can be overwhelming. However it's still a goal of mine to do solo traveling. People I know have had the times of their lives and hosteling seems like it would be an absolute blast.

But looking back in retrospect I had more Tinder bangs (staying in normal apartments overseas) than hostel bangs. Obviously on a daily basis I spent more time in normal apartments than hostels. Can't believe there are retards who do things like live in hostels for months at a time. I remember meeting those "I live in a hostel for a long time" types. They don't even party or socialize with other guests so I imagine their knotch count is low.
