Currently stuck in a dead end in my career in compliance. Was thinking of doing a course in Data analytics or programming or something to make a switch. Does anyone know much about how valuable these courses are on a resume?

Nothing wrong with certs, but they won't guarantee anything. You'll need to have a small portfolio and some code on a github account that can be shared. You'll also need to work on solving some potential interview questions, but that will be based on what job you're going after exactly. Take some time doing online tutorials if you can and see if you enjoy what you're learning about and then take a course. One thing to consider is that you might not like it, I am not pointing this out to put you down or be negative, but everyone thinks they will just love coding and working with data, and it's just not for everyone. If you don't like being at the computer all day reading hundreds of lines of code or data points it might not be for you although each job is unique and so it's impossible to say for certain what your day to day would entail. WGU is an online based university that is mastery based meaning you can pass a class as soon as you can pass the test and it's fully accredited. It might be possible for you to knock out a B.S. in their data analytics or software development degree programs in less than a year and it'd be an accredited B.S. degree in that field as opposed to just a cert. Lots of options man, find something you like and just dive into that ****. I know plenty of people with no degree doing it, but you need to prove your skills one way or the other. If the cert gets you going then do it, no one piece of paper defines you, but it could help.
