The protein expression occurs on the cells surface which absorbed the mRNA lipid, it doesn't just float around freely. But furthermore, almost all of the mRNA in the vaccine is absorbed locally into the injected tissue (shoulder muscle), and mRNA has a very short duration prior to our enzymes destroying it.
It's not the same as a virus which enters through your lungs or mucus membranes.
