Big/good news released today about Police unions

no cliffs but if you care enough about it you will read it.

https://www.cnn.com/2021/05/17/us/po...int/index.html

Long Post.

Police unions like anything else can be good or bad. The bad is it protects bad and what I refer to wanna be/fake cops who believe cause they wear the uniform and have the badge and took the oath makes them law men/woman.
Please consider. Many people join with bad intentions. They know why they are signing up. Many sign up for the wrong reasons not the right reasons.

I as with most of you here truly believe that the vast majority of law men/women are out there with good hearts, trying to do good things. The goal is to protect good people from bad people. It is really that simple if you want to get down to brass tax. Being a law man is a very very serious calling from god cause its gods work. Protecting good from evil.

I have always believed you have got to have a passion for something. to truly love it and do it well and respect it. I dont know how many people I have met that joined the army yet when i asked them about audie murphy, alvin york, have you ever seen platoon, full metal jacket, They say never heard of them never seen it. These people do not seem to me as someone who has a love or deep interest in what they want to do. Same as with law enforcment. Ask someone who says they want to be a policemenor FBI agent. Do they know who jack webb was, micah torrence, deke delouch, roy hazzlewood, john douglas..some of these people are real some fictional, but the point is these are all people in those fields anyone who has a love for you would think they would be aware of simply cause they sought them out. cause they have a deep love and passion and interest in what they are going to be doing.

if the love isnt there, if the respect and admiration is not there and you see it as just "A JOB" then to me you are in the wrong line of work. cause as said its not a job it is a calling. a dignified calling with whom those who truly respect and honor and cherish the institution they say they want to be a part of would have these feelings for.

You dont dishonor your badge, your uniform or what they represent, when you do you put s black eye on every real law ,man and woman out there cause of your lack of caring, lack of respect, lack of honoring what you go out and do every day.

Does anyone here even know what it means for a department to have accreditation's? If not look it up.

I believe in the thin blue line. Cause all of you want your loved ones safe and protected but turn around and bitch and moan at the manner of which that safety and protection is given to you. That safety and protection comes at high risk. That high risk is not at you so you dont care. its a duty that must be done and at times what you see on the news and constructed by news agencies to make the law man look like the criminal and make the criminal look like the hero, I,E this person was set up or planted evidence or whatever it may be. 99% of the timer when such things get done they are done to put an evil dispicable human being behind bars. Its being done good GOOD ,NOBLE reasons. Not evil, mean and corrupt reasons. Does the latter happen at times. of course but that is an extreme rarity.

a law man/law woman should take up for, turn a blind eye to and cover up for their brothers and sister badge holders "SOME TIMES" not all the time. and please reference the word brothers and sisters. you must first make sure they truly are brothers and sisters and who are doing things that might seem bad but in reality is good..must first make sure they are being done for those good reasons. cause some times that person is not a brother or sister in arms. they are just criminals who coned their way into a very special place. a very special place that real law men and women MUST protect. MUST protect from the fake ones.

cause when these FAKE ones do the chit they do. for bad reasons. they are pisssing on the memory and the badge of every good and REAL law man and woman who has ever given their life in the line of duty.

when these fakes are pointed out you are not betraying a brother or sister in arms. you are kicking a criminal scum bag out of your HOME. a HOME you have to earn the right to live in and away from a family you have to earn your right to be a member and part of said FAMILY.

ending. the thin blue line should always be there, there should NEVER be a civilian review board and if one is ever put into place i would not blame every LEO if they quit, resigned, retired or what have you cause that is something that should just not be allowed to be put into place for more reasons than I care to type out.

this is not civilians against cop or cop against civilians. cause if we are good and decent human beings we should all be on the same team. Stop believing everything you see on the news, stop thinking you know whats going on or should have happened from watching some video recorded on a cell phone when you dont have the training or experience to even know what you are seeing and looking at.

as civlilans when we mess up, when we make a bad decision every one of us ask for a second chance. Many of us ask for third and fourth chances, But when a leo messes up you immediately call for their job, wanted them arrested, lose their pension, their healthcare . They have families like you me, they have bills to pay like you and me, they have LIVES like you and me. They are not perfect. this is not a perfect world.

they dont want you to cheer them on, pat them on the back or call them heros. they risk their life for you. they risk their children growing up without a mother or father for you. All they would like I imagine is just a little respect guys. just show some respect. give a thank you from time to time.

as with all things in life. take a moment to put yourself in someone elses shoes and try and feel like they might feel. they put it ALL on the line for you and many of you snicker, call them nasty names, cheer and root for the bad guys when they confront them.

ive been on the opposite end. Ive been under investigation. ive at times felt i treated bad but ive always known I was treated fairly. you act like a scum bag you will get treated like one, act and be a decent person who made some mistakes and more times than not you will be treated accordingly. I dont brown nose, I dont kiss ass. I never have i never will. I simply tell it as it is .

they saved my life. and i deserved what I got and the system worked. Im alive, im free, i have a son, I have a chance at life again.

dont allow your bad behavior that gets you locked behind bars cause you to blame anyone but yourself. cause LEOS dont put you in jail. they just take you there. you put yourself jail. you and you alone.

anyways. good article on the unions for those who want to read.. hope my views and opinions and thats all they are "MY views and MY opinions" you dont have to agree with them. but I hope they reached someone and maybe let you see things from a different perspective

Pretty much instead of comradery, police unions and departments will drop officers to fend for themselves at any indication of any controversy, for it's far easier to distance themselves and cut off and look good to the public rather than doing the right thing.

Most officers have known this for a long time.

and if that's the case, why would anyone want to join the union ?
