Why is fried calamari so small but calamari steak is

Like 500% larger than the small legs

I realize I could google this but I would rather ask it here srs

Calamari steaks are usually known as "Grande Calamari" (or sometimes, "Humboldt Squid"). It is the squid body cut into segments and flattened. Many cooks will limit the natural curling by diagonal cuts on the outside of the body.

I had to look up Calamari steaks. I have never had it but love calamari.

Very very good stuff, you’ll be doing yourself a huge favor by trying it.

Edit: along the lines of seafood, also strongly recommend skate wing.

Gotta find a place that serves it. I love seafood. I eat salmon several times a month.
