Bike recommendation( real bike )

I ride about 15 miles a week approximately so I'm not looking for something super fancy.
I've had this old schwin bike for 10 years and it's not smooth at all and need an upgrade.
300 dollars maximum is my budget, any suggestion?

I've been looking on Offerup for deals around me but I don't know much about brands.

I will say this...
Do not try to "stretch" your money. If you only have $300 dollars aim for a singlespeed bike or one with a decent internal gear hub.

Also you should try to do some of your own bike maintenance so the group set doesn't wear down as quickly.

This being said, I can attest to the quality of priority cycles as my dad has owned two and I have ridden them. They are belt driven meaning no chain lube. You only really have to maintain your brakes and tires. they are also very silent. the models I list below are around $500 though.

$300 will not get you a good bike. Spend at least $600 or up.

For that price range personally I’d go on FB marketplace and try to find a quality used one that someone’s selling. I’ve been looking into getting a new one lately but I’m looking for trail riding mountain bikes so price vs quality ration my be different.

I would still say worth. Gates carbon drive is the only good belt system and it is over 100 dollars for the belt and sprockets alone. It is difficult to find a bike with decent specs and a belt drive for 500 range. For some it is not worth because they prefer chain

Rode a singlespeed peugot ****bike for a long time. Took it 50 miles and through harlem's hills on some occasions. Climbs will not be comfortable but its better than mechanical failure bc you tried to buy a multi speed bike with $300. Also, wood recommend doing ur own repairs. Pretty much anything that is not rewiring is cheap and easy. Only big expense would be a stand but you can turn the bike upside down tbh.
