I grew up in a very rural, conservative community, and most of the guys I went to high school with have stayed that way. Super nice, hard-working, down-to-earth people.

There is one guy I vaguely knew in high school who is constantly ranting about Trump, anti-vaxxers, supporting BLM, etc. on ********. I don't have a problem with the subject material necessarily, rather how smug he is about it. Saying things like "I DARE anyone to debate me on this, I will take absolute pleasure in publicly humiliating you...." etc. Nobody ever responds, he doesn't get many likes.

What's interesting is that this guy in high school was an overweight, awkward, moon-faced dork who was very mild-mannered and shy. His last picture is from 2013, a year before he graduated. Nobody has posted any newer pictures of him, I don't think he's ever had a single girlfriend, it doesn't look like he's doing anything impressive education/career wise.

It's weird seeing this side of him coming out. But it's telling that the biggest losers from grade school are the ones who feel so smug and emboldened when sitting behind a computer screen. It's sad to see what the guy has become, he seems like such an angry person now.

Yeah. One of my childhood best friends is this way. He was an alpha all through school. The first of us to lose his virginity. Always had sloots, was tough, won fights, had confidence, etc.

Then he moved away for college and slowly became a different person. First he became a junkie. Then he went to jail. He just deteriorated into a downward spiral of degeneracy.

Now he’s on social media dressing as a woman, telling people to call him the feminine version of his name with they/them pronouns. Ded fkin srs. I wish I was joking. It’s like I don’t even know this person I once considered my brother anymore.
