Did you see that video that went viral a few months ago with the whitetail with the giant gaping wound on it's back? I'm sure it died soon after from infection if nothing else, but crazy how hardy some animals are to be able to just walk around like nothing is wrong with hyuuuge mortal wounds.

my old forestry foreman's ex was a veteranarian

He told me a story where she came accross a guy who hit a deer, im assuming either she witnessed the impact or was coming up on it immediatly after. He said the guy who hit the deer was stabbing it in the chest to kill it and she walked up, took the knife from him and sliced its neck like ol lady catlyn at the red wedding

Tough chick, hot too

I've only had to end animals suffering once, it was a bunny I accidently stepped on while at work and broke his leg. I can shoot a deer cause it's food but I felt awful snapping its neck cause I inadvertently killed him due to circumstance of he was chilling in shrubbery i was walking through

RIP Roger rabbit

Always possible, but keep in mind animals have no idea their actions inflict pain. Wolves and coyotes often rip the ass end out of a deer, and then just wait. Eventually when it is too weak or septic to fight back, they get a much safer meal

i finished a deer with a knife once. Wasn't nice. Saw one hit on the highway a few years ago that was sitting there, alert with a clear hole through it just below its spine.

Sorry bout the bunny.

One that sticks out in my mind was when I hit a large snapping turtle in a boat once. The drive cut the turtle pretty nearly cleanly in half. When I went back the poor thing was paddling line crazy for the surface with its front legs. It had no back half.

Nature knows one thing: Go hard until you literally run out of life. No time to feel sorry for yourself, and pain be damned.
