Why do professional women's sports even exist?

With the exception of volleyball which is not watched for its skill, women are objectively bad at every sport. Hardly anyone watches them on TV or in person either.

WNBA only exists because they are subsidized by the NBA, and women's team will lose to an athletic Saturday men's team that is halfway decent
Women's soccer team was crushed by a bunch of 15 year old boys
Women's golfers can't compete with male collegiate players, much less the actual pros on the PGA. The closest they got was Michelle Wie who made a couple cuts but never actually contended.
We all know they can't drive for chit so motorsports are pretty much out. Danica Patrick is the only woman to win an Indy race...but it was in Japan and that basically doesn't count.
Softball is a joke and any dude who played Baseball in Highschool will smoke the chit out of even the fastest pitch a woman can throw.

Why bother dumping money into these sports. Some don't even generate the revenue to keep them alive and need to be subsidized. Whoever thought it was a good idea to let women pretend they were as good as men at sports is a real *******.

you basically spelled it out in your argument.

Girls play sports, and since they can't compete with men need independent leagues of their own. It's not really about the money...NBA doesn't even notice the money it uses to subsidize the WNBA. Us womens soccer generates more than enough money to support itself. LGPA has decent popularity. Softball is very popular at the high school and collegiate level. The issue with women in motorsports is that most are incapable of tackling the mental hurdle of driving a car at it's absolute limit. Michele Mouton was actually a really good female driver

Aside from whether these sports are worth it from a monetary value, it should be easy to understand why they exist. There are women out there who enjoy competing and while I wouldn't say they deserve an avenue to compete, I don't see any harm in them having the opportunity. Again I am not talking from a business perspective because like you said their respective leagues/organizations make less money or have less public interest. But it is good to see women who enjoy competing in athletics have the opportunity.

I don't mind watching female sports if they're at least somewhat skilled at what they do and the competition is somewhat level. Also I watch female soccer from time to time for entertainment value. Not because I'm impressed or because it's exciting, but they're so bad it's actually quite fun to watch.

They won't for much longer if we continue down the path of normalizing trannies and allowing them to compete in women's sports.
I call it "Celebration". It's sexual, and violent...

If men are better at sports than women you all should support Trans women in sports! Imagine the WNBA with a bunch of Juwanna Manns dunking etc, would be way more entertaining and now you have more sports to watch! They could open a womens NFL League with Trans women and you would have football year round!

The only professional women's sport that is economically viable for any decent money is women's tennis.

The best of 3 format on the women's side and the lack of huge serves might make for better viewing that the ace dominated longer best of 5 format on the men's side.

Can't think of any other women's professional sports that gain any type of viewership.

On the amateur side you might watch women's figure skating and gymnastics during the Olympics every four years, and some darling might win a gold and cash in with some endorsements, but there is not a huge appetite for these sports, they come and go every 4 years for a reason.

Women's beach volleyball will also get some views around Olympic time, just to check out some tail, but I couldn't even tell you what the pro beach scene is like these days or where to watch. I don't think it is terribly lucrative.
Look, you're my best friend, so don't take this the wrong way but, in 20 years if you're still here postin' in hhhnnnggg threads, beggin' for mod reps, and braggin' about whales you harpooned from POF, I'll f'in kill ya. That's not a threat, that's a fact, I'll f'in kill ya. You got somethin' none of us have, and you don't owe it to yourself man, you owe it to me. Cuz tomorrow I'm gonna wake up and I'll be red, and I'll still be a socially awkward/FA. And that's all right.

Women make up more than 20% of golfers, so that's a 15-20 Billion dollar a year market. Even if only serious female players watch the tour, the endorsements and product exposure clearly make it economically viable.
I suspect snowboarding's numbers would also prove to be economically viable since it's not a lot of money and those women also help sell products from outerwear to sunglasses to sports drinks.

The only women's sports I watch is beach volleyball, tennis and maybe gymnastics. Tennis at least the game is decent and the women are sometimes hot. Beach volleyball the game is decent and the women are often hot and barely wearing anything. Gymnastics I admire their skill and strength.

There is no female sport where they are better than men in performance

That said there are women’s sports that can be enjoyable to watch. Tennis, vball, gymnastics. I watch that and think “that’s amazing, I can’t do that” and can appreciate it even if it’s not the best of the best (men)

But with something like the WNBA you watch it and think “I could start for that team”. Idk if it’s even true but 6’3, weigh more than anyone on the court, can jump higher than anyone on the court, stronger than anyone on the court - the thought at least enters your mind

That should never be the case when watching pros

The WNBA's existence takes a lot of heat off the NBA. I think a lot of people don't understand why these big companies make such a big show of being woke. It's 100% a business decision, even though it's a profit loss in isolation.

If you don't show how woke you are, some regulator will find a bunch of never-enforced laws that you are suddenly in violation of. Doing business will become extremely difficult. Somehow these things tend not to happen to woke companies.

There are millions of rules on the books, and it is impossible to not break one. They are just excuses to get you for something that isn't explicitly against the rules, like hiring straight White men. They've long since stopped caring about what laws mean, only about how they can apply them to fuk with people.

I see your point, but at least it gives ypunger women some kind of athletic role model.

Some women ive dated wanted to be pro "x", but ultimately just played rec adult womens leagues. If anything, it gave them an excuse to stay fit
