Why is there no website or service like Fiverr to find tradies?
Srs thread
Finding a plumber or electrician or whatever is still word of mouth.... and at times you get someone who ****ing sucks are you have to get the job re-done.
All craigslist does is provide them a place to list their service.
But why is there no site like Fiverr where maybe they can post their work, see reviews etc? Would make the process so much easier.
Would apply to all tradie stuff including builders, carpenters, mechanics etc etc

Some of my friends who have their own biz say they have to decline a fair share of job request because they have too much work already. So to sign up to a site just to decline even more requests is out of the question
They also get their share of calls from sales/marketing people who want to get them more "exposure" or w/e, but get declined because of the same reason

i just started and apparently here in florida getting journeyman is different; not from what i had researched but.. according to everybody ive worked with
so apparently most guys get side work through the contractors they have good relationships with. but ive heard they charged 70 to 150/ hr. but im sure its usually small jobs
but they can make good money on the side.
i personally don't think i'm ready for sidework. plus ive been tired as chit along from what dstee said
i also get tips from regular work which is something i didn't account for
edit: also i know of a few apps that do work like that. "thumbtack" is one
