The new research, published in The Journal of the American Medical Association, shows Oregon may be taking a risk if the governor lifts restrictions when at least 70% of the adult population has received at least once dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Even with a majority of the state vaccinated, cases may spike if restrictions are lifted, meaning that masks and social distancing may be needed a bit longer.
