What killed the nuclear family? Communism or capitalism?

Some say that communism has killed the American family... Brainwashing our population to accept homosexuality and free-spirited perpetual slooting. I think maybe capitalism played a bigger role-- companies eager to minimize payroll expenses no longer pay enough to raise a family on a single income, the drive for materialism we have created makes people value cars, clothes, and products over people, family, and love.

The Beatles killed the nuclear family. It's social change not economic/political.

Probably the fact that it is a social construct, and with respect to human survival and propagation, completely irrelevant and useless. The fact it isn’t necessary is what “killed” it. The fact it was always an illusion anyway.

What do you think misc
i think some people are just who and what they are and you cant change or help them. such people do not even think they need change or help.

again stick to you and yours and just let the world turn. things are what they are and if you have no say no, no power, no influence over certain things then you quietly step away. Live your own life and let others live theirs.

why let it bother you what others think or how they live their life unless it directly affects you then you just have to learn to let things be man.

keep your mind and thoughts focused on your own sphere of life, family, friends and to hell with the rest

Consumerism killed familiar bonds. Not so much capitalism per se but hyperconsimerism sure did, and one can argue that's an Inevitable by product of capitalism.

Having said that the concept of the "nuclear family" is a relatively modern thing. Something that only really existed since the 20th century (and not all of it)

Before thar extended family or multi familiar arrengmentes where the norm. Just Google how most people lived in the middle ages for example, even various extended families shared a dwelling. And going way further than that there were clans, bands, etc.

So one could say the further humanity "progresses" humans become more isolated and focused on the self. Technology and capitalism accelerated that exponentially and the internet and the virtual world further expanded that gap.

Cliffs :

Comunisim builds bonds capitalism destroys it in favor of ego driven consumption

Women really aren't capable of raising male children on their own. At least, they don't have the ability the consistently raise high value male off-spring on their own. If you look at the stats. The majority of criminals/convicts/losers are raised in a single parent home. Typically by their mother. Humans can survive but in terms of the individuals that do survive.....

There have always been four types of men.
-Those that do not have the ability to have a 'family'/ secure a mate.
-Those that have the ability but choose to be free. IE think guys that have lots of casual sex and/or knock women up then bounce.
-Those that have a normal life IE man and wife, raise kids, etc.
-Those that have the ability to game multiple chicks. Sire many children if they wish. Etc. Think a Mormon or Muslim that has multiple wives. A guy that has a wife and multiple side chicks. Or someone like Tony Huge who just has multiple live in 'girl-friends' that raise his children but are not legally married. Etc.

I think the majority of men would choose the last option. But few have the ability to do so. Men by nature have the overwhelming desire to spread their seed in multiple women.

america isnt technically capitalist, and socialism doesnt work in multicultural societies

i think its more along the lines of conservatives havnt gained any ground in america in over 100 years, we ****ed up along the line probably allowing women to vote. also doesnt help that we have a tribe of people who think whites genocided them, and want to do it again that control the media, politics, banks, acedmia etc

its not about individuals its what's best for modern society as a whole and overwhelmingly points to a nuclear immediate family Mum & Dad + kids with hopefully extended family aunts/uncles/cousins

In America Welfare and birth control pill are the 2 biggest players with feminism close behind

Tricked women into slaving away for corporations rather than slaving away for their families best interests.

yeah. watch leave it to beaver. to me growing up that was the ideal family life. that was the family i always wanted. I wanted to be ward when I grew up and had a family. I wanted a june for a wife. no not a woman that does all the cooking and cleaning. a woman who puts the most important job in the world number 1 on her priority list. BEING A GOOD MOTHER .

at that time. you could see the lifesyle back then. wally and eddie dressed smoothly, nicely, respect was shown. proper parenting was shown.

some how we went from that to long haired, draft dodging, hippies.

i dont know what went wrong along the way but something sure as hell did

I'd say the rise of LGBTQ agenda/rights/awareness etc. But then I feel that the nuclear family will be soon replaced by the digital family where science/technology will replace all that a "family" can offer including procreation.
