Was it ever not a place filled with homeless people and crazys? I remember it being like that since I was a little kid over 20 years ago.

Also isnt the boardwalk the actual literal boradwalk/pier off Ocean Dr. And the sidewalk with shops is just called venice beach?

I mean do people not understand the history of Santa Monica and Venice? They were literally the gang/dog**** part of town until it got gentrified. I think young people are confused and think because its so nice now and gentrified surrounding Venice beach that once upon a time Venice beach was something else, but its always been a **** hole with sketchy shops trying to lure you to buy their fake crap.

The boardwalk that used to be shops and cool stuff for tourists is now completely lined with homeless tents and crazy people yelling at their own reflection.

These bums are out there doing drugs and setting their tents on fire. The whole area is just a complete dump and should be avoided. Theres nothing nice or interesting there anymore. The beach is ugly and gross, and so is everything else.

At this point what's the solution ? If you stop funding / feeding them they will turn to other means of getting money, and you can't make them disappear, move them elsewhere ? They will come back or stay in that area and destroy it like they did with the previous one.

let the bottom dwellers get eaten if they cant keep themself afloat. Reinstate gun laws to allow people to defend themselves and if the homeless cant feed themselves or work and contribute to society and turn to crime then they get shot.

Apparently the majority of the homeless there choose to be homeless. They get free drugs and food daily and don't need to pay for chit.

There are huge tent cities all over the country now, poverty has shot up dramatically following the stock market crash and lockdowns.

Several years ago I went down there with some college friends for some first Friday farmers market or something. Got absolutely hammered, bought a handle from some corner store, met a homeless guy who said he used to work on Wall Street, shared the handle with him so he’d let me use his skateboard, carved some bowls, bid farewell to homeless man, walked back to car, on the way whipped out my pocketknife and slammed it into wooden fence on sidewalk, collapsed on hand, cut down to bone, bought a Cucumber Gatorade and passed TF out.
